Senior Production Designer, Global Visual Merchandising

Role Summary

The Senior Production Designer plays a key role within the Global Creative Visual Merchandising team of a leading luxury beauty brand, acting as the critical bridge between conceptual design and production execution. Reporting to the ED of Design, this individual partners closely with 3D merchandising designers, 2D creative and concept teams, copywriters, and cross-functional stakeholders. The primary goal is to ensure that the brand’s visual storytelling is executed flawlessly across all global in-store and event touchpoints.

This role requires a highly refined design sensibility, a deep understanding of production processes, and the ability to execute projects efficiently while supporting the ED of Design in maintaining visual consistency and excellence across all global markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design Adaptation & Interpretation: Partner with 3D merchandising and creative leads to interpret and adapt global campaigns for in-store and event environments, ensuring all design elements align with the brand’s luxury standards.
  • Production Development: Develop and oversee the production of high-quality design mechanicals for diverse display elements, including lightboxes, window displays, on-counter visuals, signage, and supporting collateral.
  • Team Guidance: Guide and mentor Production Designers in layout development, image selection, cropping, and typographic hierarchy to ensure strict brand coherence and consistency.
  • Global Toolkits: Create and refine comprehensive visual merchandising guidelines and toolkits for efficient and consistent global implementation.
  • Creative Consistency: Support the ED of Design in maintaining creative consistency and operational efficiency across multiple concurrent projects.
  • Project Management: Manage timelines and deliverables in collaboration with Creative Operations, ensuring all assets meet the brand’s creative, technical, and production specifications.
  • Problem Solving: Proactively identify potential design and production challenges, recommending efficient solutions that preserve the original creative intent and luxury positioning.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure all creative deliverables reflect the high-end positioning and visual sophistication required of a world-class luxury beauty brand.

Qualifications

  • BA or BFA in Graphic Design, Communication Design, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of professional graphic design experience; experience in visual merchandising is a significant plus.
  • A keen and technical understanding of design and production for high-quality print materials.
  • Software Proficiency: Must be highly proficient in:

    • Adobe InDesign

    • Adobe Photoshop
    • Adobe Illustrator
  • Must thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment, working effectively both independently and closely with cross-functional teams.
  • Superior organizational skills and keen attention to detail; ability to plan, prioritize, multi-task, and manage complex projects independently.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of presenting clear and concise ideas to leadership and global partners.
  • Demonstrates a supportive, proactive, and positive outlook.
