Junior Web Specialist & Publisher (CMS Focus) – HYBRID (3 days/wk) in Surrey, BC on a T4 basis *
Job Description: The Junior Web Specialist and Publisher is responsible for maintaining and updating corporate web content on the customer-facing website. This hybrid role requires a detail-oriented individual with hands-on experience in Content Management Systems (CMS), to ensure timely, accurate, and on-brand delivery of digital communications.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Content Publishing and Maintenance (Primary Focus):

Publish and update web content, images, documents, and promotional materials using a Content Management System (CMS).
- Maintain corporate web applications and pages within timelines to achieve client objectives and adhere to corporate standards.
- Ensure all published content is accurate, consistent, and adheres to brand guidelines and current web best practices.

- Web Production and Code Support:

Apply basic knowledge of HTML and CSS to format and style content within the CMS, troubleshoot display issues, and implement minor code-level edits.
- Review and provide input to support information architecture and page layouts for web content.

- Governance and Administration:

Manage content author permissions and implement content workflows based on client requirements within the CMS environment.
- Maintain records and control files for web content.
- Troubleshoot first-level web-related operational issues, working closely with Information Services for resolution.
- Act as a resource for internal clients regarding the web publishing process.

- Team Collaboration and Support:
-
Participate in the management of small web-based tasks and projects, providing support to the Digital team.
- (Nice-to-Have) Familiarity with team collaboration tools like Kanban or similar project tracking methodologies.

Required Qualifications
- Education: Completion of a Certificate in Web Development, Digital/Graphic Design, or a related field from an accredited post-secondary institution.
- Experience: A minimum of one (1) year of real-world experience directly related to web publishing, content management, or digital production.
- Technical Skills:

Required hands-on experience with a major Content Management System (CMS) (e.g., WordPress, Drupal, SharePoint, AEM, Sitecore, or similar enterprise-level systems).
- Sound working knowledge of basic HTML and CSS for formatting and troubleshooting.
- (Nice-to-Have) Working knowledge of image editing/graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator) for web image preparation.
- Working knowledge of MS Office products (Word, Excel).

Work Structure
- Schedule: Hybrid. In-office attendance is required Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Remote work is scheduled for Thursday and Friday.
