Software Design Engineer

Overview

This is an 8 month engagement hybrid in Redmond, WA. Expectation is at least 2 days a week onsite. It could extend up to 18 months.

As an experienced engineer, you will play a pivotal role in developing groundbreaking internal services and products, streamlining essential business workflows, and automating complex operations. Your expertise will be instrumental in delivering solutions that enhance efficiency and directly contribute to the success of our business operations. You will be at the heart of building innovative new services and products, focusing on creating robust, scalable solutions that automate and optimize internal business processes. Your Impact and Responsibilities

• Lead the fine-tuning and improvement of sophisticated software implementation projects.
• Gather and analyze system requirements, meticulously documenting specifications to develop software solutions that precisely meet client needs and data objectives.
• Analyze and review enhancement requests and specifications, providing expert insights.
• Implement system software and customize it to specific client requirements, ensuring optimal performance.
• Prepare detailed software specifications and comprehensive test plans.
• Code new programs to client’s specifications and create robust test data for thorough testing.
• Modify existing programs to new standards and conduct rigorous unit testing of developed programs.
• Create migration packages for system testing, user acceptance testing, and seamless implementation.
• Provide critical quality assurance reviews to maintain high standards.
• Perform post-implementation validation of software and swiftly resolve any bugs discovered during testing, ensuring system stability and reliability.

Must-Have Qualifications:

• 5-7 years of professional experience in software development.
• Proficiency in core hard skills including React, C, C#, Azure, and OpenAI. ​
• A solid foundation in computer science, demonstrated by strong competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.
• Extensive experience in large systems software design and development.
• Proven experience performing in-depth troubleshooting and unit testing with both new and legacy production systems.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

• Full-stack development experience with strong expertise in React and Azure.
