We’re seeking a forward-thinking Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead the next phase of our digital transformation—driving innovation, building scalable systems, and establishing a world-class technology organization.
Position Summary
The CTO will serve as both a strategic business leader and a hands-on technical architect. This executive will align technology initiatives with the firm’s long-term growth strategy, overseeing all aspects of our technology ecosystem, including business applications, call center systems, data infrastructure, web development, and cybersecurity.
The ideal candidate blends strategic vision with executional excellence—capable of leading teams, managing large-scale projects, and fostering a culture of innovation and accountability.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Define and execute a multi-year technology roadmap aligned with business growth and client experience objectives.
- Serve as a trusted member of the C-suite, advising on technology-driven business strategy and innovation.
- Build, mentor, and scale high-performing teams across Business Applications, Data Engineering, and Web Development.
- Make strategic build-vs-buy decisions to maximize value, agility, and ROI.
Business Applications & Call Center Technology
- Oversee the design, implementation, and optimization of business-critical systems, including Salesforce and Amazon Connect.
- Lead initiatives to enhance call center reliability, scalability, and client satisfaction.
- Deploy analytics, automation, and workforce management tools to improve service quality and operational efficiency.
Data Engineering & Analytics
- Architect and maintain enterprise-grade data infrastructure to enable advanced analytics and business intelligence.
- Establish strong data governance, security, and accessibility frameworks across all functions.
- Partner with analytics teams to deliver actionable insights and enable data-driven decision-making.
Web Development & Digital Experience
- Oversee the continued development of the firm’s website—the primary channel for 80% of client engagement.
- Ensure excellence in UI/UX, SEO, accessibility, and performance optimization.
- Integrate AI-driven personalization and automation to increase conversion and engagement.
Security, Privacy & Compliance
- Lead the firm’s information security strategy, safeguarding data against cyber threats and vulnerabilities.
- Implement robust identity management, encryption, and monitoring systems.
- Ensure compliance with multi-state privacy, data protection, and legal-bar requirements.
AI, Automation & Innovation
- Champion firm-wide AI and automation initiatives across client intake, case management, and operational workflows.
- Deploy AI agents and multi-agent systems to improve turnaround time and reduce manual work.
- Create an innovation framework for rapid experimentation, prototyping, and scaling emerging technologies.
Business Enablement & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Translate complex technical initiatives into clear, measurable business outcomes.
- Collaborate across Technology, Operations, Finance, and Client Services to ensure alignment and delivery.
- Establish and track KPIs that demonstrate business value and performance improvements.
Immediate Priorities (First 12 Months)
- Build end-to-end case operations functionality within Salesforce.
- Integrate AI automation into case-handling workflows.
- Transition web development in-house to accelerate optimization and testing.
- Enhance data warehouse architecture for scalable analytics and reporting.
- Lead technology integrations for future law firm acquisitions, ensuring unified systems and compliance.
Core Competencies
- Salesforce Engineering: Customizing and optimizing Salesforce for case lifecycle management.
- AI & Automation: Designing and implementing AI-powered workflows that improve efficiency and outcomes.
- Web & Funnel Technology: Building internal digital capabilities to drive faster deployment and testing cycles.
- Data Architecture: Developing modern data stacks (Snowflake, Redshift, dbt, Fivetran) for unified analytics.
- Integration Leadership: Standardizing systems and processes across newly acquired firms.
- Product & Vendor Management: Managing build-vs-buy strategy and ensuring system interoperability.
- Cybersecurity & Compliance: Enforcing strong security frameworks and regulatory adherence.
- Strategic Communication: Translating technical initiatives into clear business impact.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of progressive technology leadership experience.
- 5+ years in a CTO, VP, or senior technology executive role.
- Proven expertise in business application development, cloud platforms, call center systems, and data infrastructure.
- Deep knowledge of cybersecurity, compliance, and governance frameworks.
- Demonstrated success in scaling systems and teams in high-growth environments.
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and business acumen.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in legal technology, professional services, or other compliance-driven industries.
- Hands-on experience with AI/ML and RPA implementation in production.
- Proven success scaling technology organizations during periods of rapid expansion.
The target hiring compensation range for this role is $300k to $320k. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
