We are seeking a highly skilled Content Writer & Editor to join their dynamic in-house digital marketing team. This is an incredible opportunity to shape the digital presence of multiple consumer brands, directly influencing organic search traffic and advancing SEO strategy. You’ll be at the heart of expanding our audience, transforming complex information into accessible, engaging content, and ensuring our digital voice resonates across diverse platforms.
**What You’ll Do:**
* Update and edit website content (copy) on existing web pages to directly support the needs of the SEO team.
* Author compelling new blog articles across multiple brands, following an established editorial calendar, to significantly drive organic site traffic.
* Refresh published blog articles as needed or requested, ensuring their ongoing search relevance and optimal performance.
* Master and apply differing brand voices and content styles across a portfolio of consumer-facing brands.
* Develop and edit content precisely according to recommendations provided by SEO stakeholders, while meticulously adhering to brand voices and established standards.
* Responsibly utilize generative AI tools to assist with content development, ensuring speed to market while maintaining strict adherence to brand voices, standards, and internal guidelines.
* Demonstrate equal proficiency and comfort in authoring high-quality content without AI assistance.
* Directly update website copy through live back-end page edits within a web content-management system (CMS); role-specific training will be provided.
* Ensure all published page content, whether AI-assisted or written from scratch, is properly vetted, accurately sourced, cited, and linked to credible referenced sources as necessary.
* Incorporate requested content revisions, sometimes involving multiple rounds, based on internal review, legal, and stakeholder feedback.
* Proactively manage timelines and workload, skillfully multi-tasking to meet tight deadlines across various projects and brands.
* Grasp complex technical concepts and products, then translate them into clear, easy-to-understand language for a broad audience.
* Maintain an unwavering focus on detail, ensuring impeccable grammar, spelling, syntax, brand-voice consistency, document formatting, and content-management-system protocols.
* Strictly adhere to brand-style guidelines and voice for each brand.
* When required, format and supply copy documents (e.g., MS Word) with a clear, SEO-driven standard that makes page layout intuitive for web designers (e.g., labeling H1s, H2s, including hyperlinks, titles, meta-descriptions, source footnotes, superscripts, disclaimers).
* Collaborate effectively with the Spanish-language-first content team to assist with English versions of their content.
* Partner with designers as needed to ensure written content is visually engaging and appropriately formatted.
* Proofread all materials, interface with external proofreading resources, and help ensure overall quality control.
* Actively contribute to content planning sessions and strategic discussions.
* Present work confidently when requested and skillfully incorporate feedback from reviewers.
* Comfortably function and excel in both self-managed and collaborative team environments.
**Must-Have Qualifications:**
* 3-5+ years of professional writing and editing experience, with a strong emphasis on SEO content.
* A compelling portfolio of work that showcases your writing and content strategy expertise.
* Proven experience in content editing and publishing via web content management systems (CMS); training will be provided for specific platforms.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
* Ability to responsibly utilize generative AI tools for content development.
* General knowledge of AP/Chicago style guidelines.
* Familiarity with job-management software.
* Demonstrated ability to consistently meet deadlines.
* Exceptional communication skills.
**Nice-to-Have Qualifications:**
* A degree in Marketing, English, Journalism, Communications, Advertising, or a related field.
