NOTE: You are required to work 5 days onsite in either San Bruno, CA, Hoboken, NJ or Bentonville, AR. 

We are currently seeking a creative marketing strategist to engage third-party sellers in inspiring and impactful ways as we continue our exciting growth and acceleration. As Sr. Manager of External or Logistics Marketing, you’ll develop campaigns and produce content that help sellers of all sizes discover how they can take their businesses to new heights by being part of our platform.

You’ll join a talented team of marketing, communication, and event professionals who are passionate about helping sellers thrive and helping customers find more items to love. In this role, you’ll drive marketing activity and brand building to further strengthen our perception among sellers, channel partners, solution providers, and other external stakeholders to help grow our sellers community and endless aisles on our site. The successful candidate is an expert marketer who thinks both creatively and strategically to bring our value proposition to life in effective, measurable ways—from big bold ideas to traditional advertising and marketing tactics such as social, email, and content distributed through owned channels. The leader has a record of leading successful integrated marketing plans to reach B2B audiences, drive acquisition, and strengthen brand perception. They are guided by data and work cross-functionally to understand target audiences, define business goals, and assess outcomes to enable continuous improvement.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead external marketing for our platform, including strategies for external-facing owned channels, campaigns, and always-on marketing tactics.
  • Develop comprehensive marketing plans to drive awareness, adoption, and engagement, including determining marketing channel activations, campaign timing, and messaging.
  • Serve as a strategic counselor to business teams and partner with them to understand business priorities, build plans, provide a strategic point of view, set measures of success, and ensure successful execution of marketing activity.
  • Conduct experiments with creative, messaging, and audience targeting to optimize channel performance and scale insights effectively.
  • Collaborate with Business Development, Lifecycle Marketing, and Analytics to understand and define target audiences and develop content and tactics strategies that resonate with them for acquisition and each lifecycle stage.
  • Partner with brand strategy, paid media, events, creative development, and other teams to develop content and tactics that support their areas, achieve business goals, and are executed with excellence and in alignment with brand guidelines. Oversee content production within service level agreements (SLAs) and support marketing activations in accordance with the editorial calendar.
  • Create compelling claims and statistics for use in marketing materials and produce content in compliance with advertising laws and legal requirements.
  • Ensure public-facing owned channels, including web, social, and blog, are optimized to achieve business priorities and strengthen the brand. Lead our social strategy.
  • Lead quarterly business review, planning, and standing reviews of external marketing activity to ensure high-quality, consistent, and optimal execution. Provide regular analysis of the competitive marketplace marketing landscape.
  • Partner with our Global Communications and Marketing teams to ensure alignment with enterprise marketing and PR activity.
  • Manage external agencies, budgets, and timelines to ensure success.

You’ll sweep us off our feet if you have:

  • 6+ years of external marketing experience within an online marketplace, retailer, e-Commerce brand, or agency supporting one or more of these types of businesses.
  • Direct experience creating content, channel strategies, and marketing campaigns for B2B organizations and sales teams.
  • Created research and measurement programs to define target audiences and determine the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and tactics.
  • A strong understanding of creative development capabilities and SLAs.
  • High standards for writing and design, along with attention to detail.
  • The ability to be a self-starter with strong interpersonal, project management, and analytical skills. You’re organized, disciplined, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proven ability to create clarity in ambiguous circumstances, including in stakeholder conversations at the onset of a new project, gathering requirements, or managing through revision.
  • Directly managed teams and shaped evolving organizations.

The target hiring compensation range for this role is $70 to $95/hr. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
