Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Logistics Analyst for a special project assignment. This contract position will serve as a key resource providing analytical support and expertise in logistics operations through data analysis, research, and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Data Management & Analysis
- Gather and compile raw data from various sources
- Conduct comprehensive research on industry trends and benchmarks
- Normalize data to fit centralized data formats and standards
- Define data definitions and document any data limitations
Analytical Functions
- Perform detailed analysis and comparative studies against industry and company benchmarks
- Identify trends and patterns in logistics data
- Prepare comprehensive cost analyses
- Generate reports with charts, graphs, and visual representations
Reporting & Communication
- Create detailed spreadsheets for data analysis purposes
- Develop reports, mailing lists, maps, and respond to ad hoc requests
- Prepare and deliver presentations as needed
- Provide data-driven recommendations based on findings and analysis
- Contribute input on policies and procedures development
Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Analytics, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline
Core Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency in logistics operations and concepts
- Advanced Excel skills and data analysis capabilities
- Experience with data visualization tools and techniques
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
Preferred Experience
- Previous experience in logistics or supply chain analysis
- Knowledge of transportation management systems
- Familiarity with industry benchmarking practices
- Experience preparing executive-level presentations
