Join a leading AAA game studio as a Franchise User Researcher and make a direct impact on player experience. You’ll be the voice of the player, ensuring the development team has the insights they need to create truly exceptional games. As a key member of the Performance & Insights team, you will empower game developers with critical player feedback. Your research will directly influence game design, ensuring an engaging and enjoyable experience for players worldwide. Collaborate with various teams, champion player insights, and see your work come to life in a dynamic and creative environment.

What You’ll Do:

  • Design and execute comprehensive research studies, from playtests and usability testing to quantitative surveys and market research.
  • Transform raw data into actionable insights, crafting compelling reports and presentations that resonate with game developers.
  • Collaborate with product management, production, and marketing teams to understand project needs and deliver impactful research outcomes.
  • Advocate for the player, ensuring their feedback is heard and integrated into the game development process.
  • Drive continuous improvement in research methodologies, staying at the forefront of industry best practices.
  • Mentor and guide junior researchers, fostering a culture of excellence within the team.

Must-Haves:

  • Master’s degree in psychology, human-computer interaction, or a related field (PhD preferred).
  • 8-10 years of experience in games user research, with a proven track record of delivering impactful insights.
  • Deep understanding of various research methodologies, including qualitative and quantitative approaches.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to tailor your message to diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools.
  • A passion for gaming and a deep understanding of player behavior.

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Experience with first-person shooter games.
  • Experience shipping a game title.

The target hiring compensation range for this role is $65.81 to $73.13 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
