Partnering with Aquent, a global leader in packaging solutions seeks a skilled Die Cutter Operator to join their team. In this role, you will be instrumental in transforming printed materials into finished products, ensuring precision, quality, and efficiency every step of the way. Your expertise will directly impact the final product, contributing to the company’s reputation for excellence and innovation.
As a Die Cutter Operator, you’ll be responsible for operating and maintaining offline die cutting machinery, ensuring the production of high-quality finished goods that meet exacting customer specifications. Your ability to troubleshoot, adjust, and fine-tune the equipment will be essential to maximizing productivity and minimizing waste. You will also lead and mentor general technicians, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
What You’ll Do:
Operate, troubleshoot, and monitor the offline die cutter machine, ensuring optimal performance and output.
Prepare the die cutter for production runs by adjusting the die and register for pressure and cutting accuracy.
Execute make-ready tasks to achieve high productivity and precision operations, resolving any defects and making necessary adjustments to maintain quality.
Supervise and guide general technicians working on the equipment, providing support and training as needed.
Address machine jams and make necessary adjustments during production while maintaining speed and quality standards.
Ensure efficient and rapid make-ready processes, including loading and unloading materials.
Verify the quality of completed jobs by reviewing for accuracy and completeness, ensuring customer expectations are exceeded.
Maintain comprehensive records by completing all required checklists.
Adhere to and promote compliance with all ISO standards, quality objectives, and safety regulations.
Comply with cGMP, HACCP Food Safety Requirements, and Chain of Custody Program Requirements.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all OHSE policies and procedures.
Follow established safety protocols, including the proper use of PPE, handling of hazardous materials, and adherence to uniform guidelines.
Utilize company-provided safety lifting equipment (hoists, jacks, vacuum manipulators) as needed.
Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and management, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
Provide training and guidance to team members, motivating them to improve quantity and quality of work.
Must-Haves:
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Minimum of 3 years of offline die cutting experience within the folding carton industry.
Proven experience with die cutters equipped with blanking capability.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Basic computer skills and mathematical aptitude for calculating percentages, weights, and measures.
Ability to perform additional tasks as assigned by department leads, shift leads, or management.
Ability to lift in excess of 60 lbs frequently.
Ability to stand, stoop, bend, reach, balance, kneel, crouch, and manipulate equipment for extended periods.
Good eye-hand coordination, close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Flexibility to rotate shifts and work overtime as needed to meet customer demands.
Nice-to-Haves:
Experience with specific types of die cutting equipment or software.
Advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
