Illustrator / tee shirt designer

Overview

Our well known technology client is looking for a Washington, DC based Illustrator / teeshirt designer to assist with a very profile project:

• Must be a D.C. local artist

• Painted in a style indicative of ‘D.C.’ art

• Don’t include our client’s logo in any form

• Visual references and more details to be provided

Start = ASAP

Duration = approx 1 week of work

This is a remote role but candidates must be based out of the Washington, DC area.

The Challenge:

To help celebrate the international nature of our client’s technology conference, they want to create a bespoke t-shirt.

We would like for the artwork to have the stylistic sense of local art and the artist’s unique style, but made to align visually with the t-shirts of our other regional events so that they all feel like a collection. 

Infuse the artwork with your rendition of makes D.C., D.C.. For example, our Taiwanese artist included the Taipei 101 and night markets to capture Taipei and our Parisian artist included the Eiffel Tower, The Seine, and Haussmannian style buildings. We’re looking to capture your best representation of D.C. 

The asset will need to fit within a 1:1 ratio square on the front of the t-shirt and include D.C.  historic landmarks such as the Capitol Building, the Natl. Mall, Tidal Basin, the Washington Monument, or items of cultural significance. In addition to the regionally specific items, our client’s Voyager Building and the word ‘GTC25’ (see References) are required to be within the scene to depict the idea that “Client has landed” in Washington D.C. for GTC. 

The target hiring compensation range for this role is $50 to $55 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
