As an Equipment Engineer, you’ll be immersed in the world of vehicle performance, working closely with a dynamic team to ensure seamless assembly and optimal functionality of electrical control systems. Your expertise in computer hardware/software interfacing and vehicle communication protocols will be essential in bringing these complex systems together.

What You’ll Do:

  • Contribute to project planning for upcoming model changes, influencing the development and implementation of next-generation vehicle technology.
  • Engage in simultaneous engineering efforts, collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize the assembly of vehicle electrical control systems.
  • Lead FEA investigations, develop equipment bid specifications, and oversee installation and modifications for vehicle performance equipment, ensuring the highest standards of quality and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners, fostering strong relationships and driving innovation across the organization.

Must-Haves:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or Engineering with an Electrical and Computer Engineering Emphasis.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Catia, XVL, and Inventor.
  • Strong understanding of technical standards related to vehicle calibration and communications.
  • Expertise in computer hardware/software interfacing (both wired and wireless) for communication with vehicle ECUs.
  • Ability to develop detailed specifications that meet technical standard tolerances for vehicle calibration (e.g., headlamp aim, radar cruise control).
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word).
  • Ability to travel up to 20%.
  • Valid driver’s license and a motor vehicle record that meets company standards.

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Ability to read Japanese.
  • Experience with electrical systems.
  • Background in systems engineering and analysis.
  • Experience with microcomputer and/or embedded systems.

The target hiring compensation range for this role is $38.40 to $42.67 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
