We’re seeking a skilled Character Modeler to join our tech client’s art production team. This role focuses on creating high-quality character models and optimizing them for animation and rigging workflows. You’ll work closely with rigging artists and sculptors to ensure models meet both aesthetic and technical standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and modify character models to match sculpted references

  • Optimize topology for performance and deformation needs

  • Ensure models meet rigging requirements and collaborate with rigging team

  • Maintain consistency with art direction and project guidelines

Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of character modeling and clean topology

  • Experience adjusting and retopologizing meshes for rigging

  • Ability to communicate effectively with rigging and animation teams

  • Familiarity with industry-standard modeling tools (e.g., Maya, ZBrush, Blender)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a game or animation production environment

  • Understanding of deformation and character animation principles

  • Knowledge of UV layout and texture baking processes

The target hiring compensation range for this role is $40/hr to $60/hr. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
