Associate Attorney – Bankruptcy
Our Client is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Associate Attorney to join our legal team, specializing in bankruptcy matters. This pivotal role involves managing all aspects of the bankruptcy process for our clients, from initial filings to complex litigation. What You’ll Do:
As an Associate Attorney – Bankruptcy, you will be responsible for leveraging your legal expertise to guide our clients through the bankruptcy process. Your core responsibilities will include:
- Pleading Management: Preparing, reviewing, and approving a wide range of bankruptcy-related pleadings.
- Case Handling: Managing all facets of bankruptcy cases, including Proof of Claims, Motions for Relief, Objections, Responses to Objections, Payment Change Notices, Settlements, and Adversary Proceedings.
- Court Appearances & Client Interaction: Participating in mediations, depositions, telephonic hearings, and in-person hearings. You will also maintain regular communication and provide updates to clients.
- Problem Solving: Identifying and resolving problems in a timely and effective manner, ensuring exceptional client service.
- Special Projects: Contributing to other duties and special projects as assigned.
What We’re Looking For:
We are seeking a candidate who is not only legally proficient but also possesses strong communication and organizational skills.
Non-Negotiable Requirements:
- Juris Doctorate (J.D.)
- Active Licensure: Licensed and in good standing with both the Maryland and Virginia State Bars.
- Communication Skills: Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills, essential for legal documentation, client systems, email, and phone interactions.
- Caseload Management: Proven ability to effectively manage and prioritize a large caseload with precision and efficiency.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Prior experience handling adversary proceedings, payment change notices, or mediations in bankruptcy cases.
- Familiarity with client systems or legal case management tools.
- Ability to attend in-person hearings or depositions as needed.
- Demonstrated success working within a structured, deadline-driven environment.

The target hiring compensation range for this role is $80,000 to $90,000. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
