As a Senior Auditor, you will be responsible for all aspects of financial and compliance audits for health plans and vendors. You’ll conduct financial analyses, perform claims audits, and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and contractual agreements. Your insights will directly impact the organization’s ability to deliver quality healthcare services. This role offers a unique blend of analytical rigor and impactful contribution to a vital public service.
What You’ll Do:
- Conduct financial audits and analyses for health plans.
- Perform financial analyses of vendor management.
- Execute claims audits for health plans and vendors.
- Deliver timely and accurate reports to ensure compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements.
- Develop and implement standardized workpaper and reporting templates.
- Document and maintain departmental policies and procedures.
- Collect and complete regulatory filing submissions.
- Conduct financial solvency reviews.
- Serve as a primary contact for claims audit related inquiries.
- Review and update departmental policies and procedures annually.
- Respond to requests from Legal and other departments.
- Act as a subject matter expert and mentor to other staff.
- Collaborate with interdepartmental personnel, leadership, health plans, and vendors.
- Support the design, implementation, and reporting of special projects.
- Develop tools for corrective action plans and non-compliance notifications.
- Assess and implement regulatory requirements impacting internal processes.
- Formalize key internal processes and monitoring tools.
- Identify areas for technical solutions to improve business performance.
- Provide training, mentorship, and process improvement recommendations.
Must-Have Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- At least 3 years of experience conducting financial audits.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the managed healthcare industry.
- At least 2 years of accounting experience.
- One of the following certifications: CPA, CMA, CIA, or CFE.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize assignments and work independently.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint).
Nice-to-Have Qualifications:
- Experience with regulatory filings in the healthcare industry.
- Experience with process improvement initiatives.
- Experience mentoring junior staff.
The target hiring compensation range for this role is $53.53 – $55.53/hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
