AI Engineer

Overview

This is a US based, 100% remote (PST hours) 12+ month long contract.

The AI Engineer will be part of the Devices Operations team, supporting critical business functions across device supply chain, manufacturing, fulfillment, and services. The role involves applying principles of computer science and software engineering to design, develop, test, and maintain scalable systems and applications that power the devices business. This includes working on cloud-native services, data platforms, and AI-integrated solutions to drive operational efficiency, reliability, and innovation at scale.

As a valued member of the Devices Operations team, you will:

• Modernize existing database and API systems to enhance performance and scalability.
• Design and implement logical and physical database schemas, ensuring data integrity and accessibility.
• Collaborate with project teams to define scope, manage development, and deliver high-quality solutions.
• Analyze user needs and translate them into efficient database designs, providing accurate time and cost estimates.
• Develop and deploy AI-powered solutions leveraging generative AI Cognitive Services and cognitive computing platforms, using your expertise in prompt engineering to optimize performance.
• Champion best practices for system reliability, proactive monitoring, and performance optimization, ensuring seamless operation of mission-critical systems.

Must-Have Qualifications:

• 4+ years of experience with cloud based AI services.
• 4+ years of hands-on experience with cloud-based AI services, including generative AI and cognitive computing platforms.
• 4+ years of experience with C# and API building.
• Strong proficiency in C#, RESTful API development, and SQL.
• Proven ability to support live production systems, including incident management and root cause analysis.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

• Excellent verbal and written communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and mentor junior team members.
• Knowledge of the full software development lifecycle.
• Solid understanding of computer hardware and software fundamentals.
• Familiarity with best practices for system reliability, alerting, telemetry, and live site engineering.

The target hiring compensation range for this role is $65 to $75 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
