Aquent Studios is looking for a passionate and experienced UX Designer for our leading Pharma client to play a pivotal role in shaping the user experience of our diverse digital products and platforms. This includes, but is not limited to, patient support programs, healthcare professional portals, clinical trial interfaces, and internal operational tools. You will be instrumental in creating intuitive, compliant, and impactful digital experiences that empower our users and support our mission.
This role offers a unique opportunity to work in a highly regulated, yet rapidly evolving industry, where your design contributions can directly influence patient outcomes and advance medical science. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including product managers, developers, researchers, medical affairs, legal, and marketing to translate complex pharmaceutical information and workflows into user-friendly digital solutions.
Please note: This role would require occasional onsite presence (1 -2 times a month) at Morristown,NJ.
Key Responsibilities:
- User Research & Analysis: Conduct comprehensive user research, including user interviews, surveys, usability testing, ethnographic studies, and competitive analysis, to deeply understand user needs, behaviors, pain points, and motivations within the pharmaceutical context. Translate research insights into actionable design recommendations.
- Information Architecture & Interaction Design: Develop clear, logical, and intuitive information architectures (sitemaps, user flows, journey maps) and interaction designs (wireframes, prototypes) for complex digital products and features. Ensure designs facilitate efficient task completion and comprehension of critical information.
- Prototyping & Iteration: Create low-fidelity to high-fidelity prototypes to effectively communicate design concepts, gather feedback, and iterate quickly based on user testing and stakeholder input.
- Visual Design (as applicable): Collaborate with or contribute to visual design efforts to ensure aesthetically pleasing interfaces that align with brand guidelines and enhance usability.
- Collaboration & Communication: Work seamlessly with product owners, developers, medical experts, legal counsel, and other stakeholders throughout the entire product lifecycle. Clearly articulate design rationale and present solutions to diverse audiences.
- Advocacy for User-Centered Design: Champion user-centered design principles within the organization, educating stakeholders on the value of UX and fostering a culture of empathy for our users.
- Problem-Solving: Proactively identify UX challenges and propose innovative, practical solutions that balance user needs with business objectives and technical constraints.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of proven experience as a UX Designer, ideally with experience in the healthcare, pharmaceutical, or other highly regulated industries.
- A strong portfolio showcasing a range of UX design projects, demonstrating your research, problem-solving, and design skills (wireframes, prototypes, user flows, etc.).
- Proficiency with leading UX design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, Axure).
- Solid understanding of user-centered design principles, methodologies, and best practices.
- Experience conducting various qualitative and quantitative user research methods.
- Familiarity with web and mobile technologies, platforms, and accessibility standards.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex design concepts to non-designers.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with an acute attention to detail.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, and evolving environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience designing for specific pharmaceutical audiences (e.g., patients with chronic conditions, specialists, general practitioners).
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical development processes and regulatory frameworks.
- Experience with data visualization and designing interfaces for complex data sets.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
- Experience contributing to or managing a design system.
- Micro-animations skills would be a plus
Compensation Range: $65 -75/hr DOE
The range provided is our reasonable estimate of the compensation for this role. The actual amount may be higher or lower, based on factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities and location.
