As a Product Test Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that apparel and accessories meet the highest standards of performance and durability. You’ll be involved in all stages of the testing process, from planning and execution to analysis and reporting. Your insights will directly influence product development, helping to create apparel that empowers athletes to achieve their full potential.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead and guide multiple stages of the apparel testing process, including test planning, recruiting testers, executing tests, analyzing data, and writing reports.
- Capture athlete insights and deliver presentations to diverse stakeholders, effectively communicating test results and recommendations.
- Collaborate with product creation and development teams to validate performance benefits and ensure products meet athlete expectations.
- Maintain, develop, and teach testing techniques and best practices, shaping the future of apparel testing.
- Work closely with internal project teams and external partners, fostering strong relationships and effective communication.
Must-Have Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a science or apparel-related field.
- Minimum 5 years of directly relevant work experience in qualitative and people-facing product testing, people research, or lab behavioral analysis.
- Experience writing research surveys and mitigating bias in research settings.
- Proven ability to manage ambiguous and flexible project plans, adapt to changing priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in qualitative and quantitative test design, data collection, and analysis.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications:
- Experience managing use cases for apparel and garments.
- Comfort working with hypotheses and developing them into testable research questions.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with athletes to gather feedback.
- Knowledge of psychometrics, sensory-perception, behavioral sciences, motor learning, or control.
- Experience with statistical software packages (e.g., SPSS, Qualtrics, SigmaPlot).
The target hiring compensation range for this role is $43.20 to $48 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
