As a key member of the data engineering team, you will be responsible for building and optimizing data pipelines using PySpark and SQL, ensuring seamless data flow and accessibility. You will play a vital role in developing and maintaining the codebase, including unit and integration tests, and contribute to infrastructure management. Your expertise in performance tuning and high-volume data management will be essential for ensuring the efficiency and scalability of data processes. Collaboration with data analysts and other stakeholders will be crucial for understanding business requirements and translating them into robust data solutions.
What You’ll Do:
- Transform SQL scripts into efficient PySpark code for enhanced data processing.
- Develop and maintain Python scripts for workflow orchestration using Airflow.
- Lead quality assurance testing, including systems integration and regression testing.
- Manage upgrades for existing data products and oversee data migration services.
- Provide production support, troubleshoot issues, and ensure system stability.
- Contribute to low-level design, code development, scheduling, and documentation.
- Champion best practices and drive continuous improvement within the team.
- Implement and maintain robust monitoring and alerting systems for data pipelines.
Must-Haves:
- Strong proficiency in PySpark and SQL.
- Experience with workflow orchestration tools like Airflow.
- Expertise in data pipeline development and maintenance.
- Proven ability in performance tuning and high-volume data management.
- Solid understanding of data warehousing principles and best practices.
- Experience with unit and integration testing methodologies.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Nice-to-Haves:
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and GitHub integration.
- Experience with data quality monitoring and alerting systems.
The target hiring compensation range for this role is $63.60 to $70.67 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
