Collaborating closely with designers, engineers, product managers, and writers, you will ensure the meticulous delivery of next-generation design system components, impacting millions of users worldwide.
About the Role:
As a UX/Visual Designer, you will be instrumental in refining and evolving the design system, focusing on meticulous detail and user-centric design principles. You’ll contribute to key projects by creating detailed specifications for components, reviewing implementations, and ensuring accessibility standards are met. Your expertise will directly influence the user experience, ensuring consistency and quality across platforms.
Responsibilities:
- Create detailed specifications for our platform design components, emphasizing Android and iOS contexts, in close collaboration with designers and engineers.
- Review the implementation of Design System components, auditing code, and providing feedback for fixes and gaps.
- Ensure that components meet accessibility standards.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders and reviewers.
- Create, revise, and organize specification documentation for platform design components, drawing from existing and ongoing designs and resources.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and reviewers to address documentation gaps through constructive reviews and design critiques.
- Collaborate with iOS design leads and engineers to achieve iOS goals, potentially including design sprints with app teams.
Must-Have Qualifications:
- 6+ years of UI/UX design, iOS and/or Android design, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
- Strong attention to detail and precision, with the ability to match redlines and design specifications.
- Clear and effective communication skills, with proven experience creating and contributing to Design System specifications and documentation.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams (Design, Research, Engineering, and Program Management).
- Experience participating in design sprints, creating rapid design concepts, and Figma prototypes.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications:
- Passion for invention, human-computer interaction, and seamless user experiences.
- Strong visual design skills with adaptability to work within Creative Direction guidance.
- Strong understanding of production requirements and a willingness to minimize negative impact.
- Confidence in presenting and promoting design solutions.
- Ability to contribute across disciplines through proactive and inclusive collaboration.
- Experience designing delightful interactive experiences.
- Experience working with a multidisciplinary team of designers and developers.
- Self-motivation and comfort in defining and meeting deadlines.
- Strong brainstorming skills, from participation to leadership.
- Strong interest in design, technology, and trends.
- Understanding of accessibility best practices and implementation.
- Deep understanding of platform design and designing for Android and/or iOS, and a proven track record of design sprints with product teams.
The target hiring compensation range for this role is $75.15 to $82 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
