This dynamic role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a high-impact team focused on building and enhancing a state-of-the-art streaming data platform. You will collaborate with talented engineers, scrum masters, and product owners to design, develop, and deploy secure, scalable, and innovative backend services. Your work will empower other engineers and data scientists to leverage the power of real-time data, driving innovation and efficiency across the organization. This position requires a deep understanding of distributed systems, cloud technologies, and streaming architectures, along with a passion for building robust and maintainable solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and test complex backend services for a near real-time data streaming platform using Java, Go, and Kubernetes.
- Create tools and utilities, primarily in Python, to facilitate the migration of existing applications to the latest platform version.
- Support client teams in migrating their codebase to the new platform through code reviews and pull requests. Client codebases may include Java, Go, Node.js, and Python.
- Collaborate with architects and leads to ensure architectural soundness, maintainability, and scalability of the platform.
- Partner with other engineers to implement web services, microservices, and RESTful APIs.
- Contribute to continuous integration and delivery pipelines, including unit testing, static analysis, and automated integration tests.
Must-Have Qualifications:
- 5+ years of software development experience designing, developing, and testing complex solutions.
- Proficiency in Java, Python, Golang, or similar web technologies.
- Experience working in a distributed/cloud-based environment, particularly with AWS services like S3, Route 53, ELB/ALBs, and SQS/SNS.
- Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Understanding of microservice architecture, domain-driven design, and RESTful Services.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications:
- Experience with streaming technologies such as Kafka, NiFi, Spark Streaming, or Flink.
- Experience with Kubernetes operator development.
- Working knowledge of Scrum and agile principles.
The target hiring compensation range for this role is $61.20 to $68 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
