As an Applications Engineer 3, you will be a key contributor to the development and support of critical applications. You will leverage your expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and AWS cloud services to design, develop, and deploy robust and scalable solutions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and provide technical guidance to optimize application performance. Responsibilities:
- Develop action plans and processes for integrating activities and optimizing department resources.
- Manage a team of engineers, setting goals, coaching, and supporting their development.
- Provide application support, problem-solving, and issue resolution.
- Contribute to and review recommendations for technical solutions.
- Define and communicate requirements for technical environments and project scope.
- Provide technical estimates for project budgets.
- Lead engagements with software vendors to ensure requirements and deliverables are met.
- Enforce architecture, governance, security, and global process standards.
- Coordinate compliance issue identification and remediation.
- Collaborate with other teams on integration needs and design.
- Contribute to database design and create advanced technical designs.
- Approve proof-of-concept efforts and review results.
- Enforce architectural direction and ensure a consistent technical approach.
- Decide on engineering tools and allocate resources based on performance monitoring.
- Manage and enforce performance thresholds and standards.
- Review and approve performance test results, recommendations, and tuning results.
- Oversee the creation of test plans, test execution, and validation of test results.
Must-Have Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 years of directly relevant work experience or one of the following alternatives: PhD or Law + 3 years; Master’s + 4 years; Associate’s degree + 6 years; High School + 7 years.
- Backend experience in Java and Spring Boot.
- Experience with microservice architecture.
- Proficiency in using AWS cloud services (API Gateway, Lambda, S3, CloudFront, EC2).
- Experience managing databases in AWS Storage.
- Ability to debug backend services.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications:
- Experience with infrastructure provisioning using Terraform.
- Proficiency in Python.
The target hiring compensation range for this role is $52.80 to $58.67 an hour.
Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
