**This role is located in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Authorized candidates living in Ontario who can work in office 3 times/week on a T4 basis are a great fit. Not able to consider remote, IC or C2C candidates.**

Our large financial services client is seeking a Product Designer to join their Digital team.  In this consultant role, you will provide design solutions for complex, ambiguous problems by collaborating and supporting agile teams with their day-to-day needs. 

You will also support product delivery through planning, assigning and executing on projects.  And as part of your work, you will promote and advance design practices within the team and help to shape user experiences they create through the digital products.

You’ll work within an agile environment and iterative process, collaborating with interdisciplinary team members and stakeholders to analyze, design and convey your design vision. A natural problem solver, communicator and facilitator, you’ll be involved in every step of the process from idea generation to implementation.

What You Will Do: 

Interaction Design Strategy 

  • Use visualizations and interactions to support analytical thinking with large data sets.
  • Understand user interface patterns and behaviours.
  • Facilitate design critique, evaluate interactions for inclusivity, and provide expert advice and guidance to cross-functional teams.
  • Facilitate ideation sessions, collaboration, and product design expertise. 

Interaction Artifact Creation 

  • Understand interaction design theory, research data, and best practices to make informed decisions.
  • Develop complex artifacts that communicate tasks, touchpoints, behaviors, and information exchange.
  • Exploration, communication, and validation of ideas using low-fidelity sketches, wireframes, and prototypes.
  • Provide delivery specifications for development by creating complex prototypes.
  • Present interaction design work to senior stakeholders. 

Research and Testing

  • Facilitate usability testing 
  • Participate in or initiate research activities 
  • Research interaction design strategies in the financial services sector and perform competitive audits pertinent to specific design or business goals 
  • Perform pattern, micro-interaction and component design audits where appropriate 

What You Will Bring: 

Must have

  • 5+ years of experience designing usable interfaces for multiple channels and platforms
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Design Thinking and ability to explain design processes
  • Portfolio showcasing interaction design expertise with an advanced understanding of responsive web and mobile best practices
  • Knowledge of Product Development best pratices and success in working with cross-functional agile teams
  • -Demonstrated ability to think critically and make decisions
  • Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills to articulate design strategy, rationale, and logic; describing benefits and identifying risks
  • Expertise with design, prototyping, and research tools such as Figma and Mural
  • BA/BS degree or a related field or equivalent practical experience

Nice to Have: 

  • Experience with visual design and user research
  • Familiarity with French
  • Experience working within large organizations and in agile environments
