This role requires a highly skilled and experienced Performance Test Coordinator to lead and manage performance testing efforts for a large suite of financial applications. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver, capable of designing and implementing performance testing strategies, coordinating with various teams, and communicating effectively with stakeholders. This is a senior-level role that demands a blend of technical expertise, project management skills, and leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performance Testing Strategy & Execution:
    • Develop and propose a comprehensive performance testing process, including methodologies, tooling, and reporting.
    • Design and implement overhead, scalability, stability, and stress tests using industry-standard tools (JMeter, LoadRunner, BlazeMeter) and potentially developed software.
    • Analyze performance results to identify bottlenecks and suggest optimizations.
    • Conduct various types of performance testing, including volume, soak, and response time tests.
    • Write and manage performance testing scripts.
  • Coordination & Leadership:
    • Lead and coordinate performance testing efforts across multiple scrum teams and business units.
    • Collaborate with business and product stakeholders to document use cases and prioritize testing.
    • Facilitate communication between the performance testing team and development teams for issue remediation.
    • Train and guide the organization on performance testing best practices.
  • Tooling & Monitoring:
    • Demonstrate expertise in performance testing tools such as JMeter, LoadRunner, and BlazeMeter.
    • Utilize SQL profiling tools (e.g., SQL Profiler) for database performance analysis.
    • Experience with monitoring tools like AppDynamics is highly desirable.
    • Build or configure tools to conduct performance tests.
  • Analysis & Reporting:
    • Quantify performance issues and provide clear, actionable reports.
    • Analyze performance results to identify bottlenecks and suggest optimizations.
  • Project Management & Communication:
    • Develop and manage performance testing plans and timelines.
    • Demonstrate strong project management skills, organization, and communication abilities.
    • Articulate performance related concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Environment:
    • Work within large UNIX systems environment, with Windows platform and/or Linux experience.
    • Experience with Oracle cluster technology, partitioning configuration, slanted towards performance, tuning and scalability.
    • Systems Administrator experience with UNIX / SOLARIS / LINUX OS relative to SHELL scripting, VMSTAT, SAR and Statspack.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Significant experience (beyond 3-5 years, ideally senior-level) in performance testing coordination and execution.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing performance testing strategies.
  • Strong understanding of performance testing methodologies and best practices.
  • Hands-on experience with performance testing tools (JMeter, LoadRunner, BlazeMeter).
  • Experience with SQL profiling and database performance tuning.
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., AppDynamics).
  • Excellent project management, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Experience in a financial services environment, particularly with retirement financial applications, is highly desirable.
  • Excellent design/architecture skills for transactional, messaging, or batch applications.
  • Good working knowledge of operating systems, databases and programming languages (both procedural and object).

 

The target hiring compensation range for this role is $49.92 to $55.47/Hourly (W2). Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
