Our pharma client is seeking a detail-oriented Content Editor with a strong background in editorial work. This role is unique and involves a combination of editorial tasks and meeting participation, making it different from traditional editorial positions.
The ideal candidate needs strong critical thinking skills and adaptability to new technology, rather than purely creative skills, as the role is not about crafting new content. You also need to be able to lead meetings and drive things.
- Location: Preference for candidates on the East Coast who can consistently work East Coast hours. Central time zone candidates may be considered if they can reliably work East Coast hours.
- This is a Part-time, W2 position: 30 hours a week.
MUST HAVES:
- Veeva experience – Must be on your resume to be considered
- Pharmaceutical experience – Must be on your resume to be considered
Key Responsibilities:
- Editorial Work: Perform detailed language corrections and disaster checks on core and derivative assets. This includes ensuring accuracy in grammar, spelling, and punctuation, as well as maintaining meaning and value in written content.
- Meeting Participation: Actively participate in virtual meetings, sharing your screen to review and discuss agenda items. This requires strong communication skills and the ability to present your work clearly.
- Collaboration: Work closely with legal, medical, and regulatory reviewers. Engage in sidebar conversations and incorporate feedback from various stakeholders.
- Technological Adaptation: Utilize AI tools for proofreading and editing. Stay up-to-date with technological changes and adapt accordingly.
- Training and Development: Participate in a robust training process to learn all necessary skills and knowledge. Observe and learn from colleagues during meetings and training sessions.
Qualifications:
- Education: A four-year degree in English, Journalism, Literature, or a related field. Other degrees may be considered if the candidate has strong language skills.
- Experience: 2-3 years of editorial experience is preferred. Candidates with more experience are welcome, but they should be adaptable and open to new processes.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with Veeva and other content management systems. Technical writing experience is not a good fit for this role.
- Soft Skills: Strong meeting skills, the ability to work well in a team, and comfort with virtual collaboration. Self-control and the ability to focus on detailed, repetitive tasks are essential.
Additional Information:
- Work Environment: This is a remote position, but candidates must be comfortable with virtual meeting participation and collaboration.
- Assessment: Candidates will be required to complete a proofreading and editorial assessment, which takes about one hour.
The target hiring compensation range for this role is $48.00 to $50.00 / hr. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
