We are seeking an experienced Systems Support Adminstrator to join our remote team and play a key role in maintaining and upgrading legacy systems across multiple manufacturing plants. This position will be responsible for supporting and maintaining the Ignition SCADA platform, which is critical for operational stability, safety, and performance across global locations. You will be tasked with ensuring the uptime of 700 servers spread across 140 sites, supporting both core servers and SCADA systems.

The role requires a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage critical systems under tight deadlines. The candidate will work closely with plant managers and operators to ensure minimal disruption and optimal system performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • SCADA System Maintenance:

    • Support and maintain Ignition SCADA systems, ensuring stability, security, and patching are up to date.
    • Address backlog of patching and ensure compliance with security and stability standards.
    • Troubleshoot SCADA-related issues to minimize system downtime.
  • Server Management:

    • Maintain 500+ servers across 140 sites, including core servers that specifically support SCADA systems.
    • Coordinate with plant teams to ensure minimal disruption and maximum uptime.
  • System Upgrades:

    • Support the upgrade cycle for systems, typically occurring every 2-5 years.
    • Follow and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for patching, system maintenance, and troubleshooting.
    • Manage pre-patching checks and rollback plans in case of issues.
  • Communication & Collaboration:

    • Collaborate with plant managers, operators, and technical teams to ensure smooth system operations.
    • Regularly report on patching progress, system health, and project status.
  • Documentation & Project Management:

    • Keep detailed documentation of maintenance activities, including patching schedules and system health logs.
    • Use Excel and other tools to track patching progress, status reports, and ongoing projects.

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong communication skills, especially in coordinating with cross-functional teams and plant operators.
  • An understanding of SCADA systems, specifically Ignition platform, and experience in troubleshooting, patching, and maintaining critical systems.
  • Solid experience with Windows Server management and proficiency in SQL for managing and querying system databases.
  • Familiarity with networking, firewalls, and network security in manufacturing environments.
  • Ability to create and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), ensuring compliance with best practices for patching and troubleshooting.
  • Project management skills to track and report on patching schedules and system upgrades.
  • Excellent attention to detail, particularly in patching, documentation, and system maintenance.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience in Manufacturing Plant Systems and knowledge of control systems in industrial environments.
  • Proficiency in Excel for tracking, reporting, and maintaining system logs and documentation.
  • Familiarity with networking and firewall configuration to ensure secure operations.
  • Previous experience in remote, globally distributed teams is a plus.

Work Environment & Logistics:

  • This role is fully remote,
  • The role will support global systems with plants located in North America, Asia Pacific, Europe, and Latin America.
  • Patching schedules must avoid Fridays to prevent disruptions to weekend operations.
