We are seeking motivated and detail-oriented SCADA Systems Technician to join our Manufacturing IT team as part of a staff augmentation initiative. The ideal candidates will provide essential support to our Manufacturing IT function, specifically focusing on maintaining critical systems across our manufacturing environment. As a member of this team, you will serve as the Ignition SCADA system patching and maintenance team for the servers that support these systems, ensuring their optimal performance.
You will play a key role in system maintenance, patching, troubleshooting, and general support for these critical manufacturing systems. Key Responsibilities:
- System Maintenance & Patching: Partner with Manufacturing IT Platform Owners and IT Security teams to understand and execute system maintenance and patching procedures on critical systems.
- System Support: Perform high-level troubleshooting and support for Ignition SCADA systems and other manufacturing-related IT systems on a daily basis.
- Collaboration: Coordinate with manufacturing end-users to plan and execute system maintenance activities within agreed-upon timeframes.
- Deployment: Assist with system deployments as required, ensuring minimal disruption to manufacturing operations.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation for system maintenance procedures, patching activities, and server inventory. Ensure all records are up-to-date and comply with internal policies.
- End User Support: Provide consistent, high-quality support to end users, proactively addressing needs, resolving issues quickly, and building trust by following through on commitments.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements based on feedback from end users and report concerns or issues raised.
- Team Collaboration: Work effectively with team members and other departments to meet or exceed organizational goals.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Prior experience with server maintenance, administration, and support, with proficiency in server operating systems such as Windows and Linux.
- Strong knowledge of server security best practices and adherence to IT security standards.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently and independently.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in Information Systems or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Industry certifications in server maintenance (e.g., CompTIA Server+, MCSA, RHCSA) are highly desirable.
- Familiarity with SCADA/HMI applications, particularly Ignition SCADA.
- Basic knowledge of SQL and database management.
- Experience in manufacturing operations or industrial IT systems.
- Background in general IT support or help desk functions.
- Strong independent work ethic and the ability to manage tasks with minimal supervision.
