Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Cognos/ATSCALE Developer with 7-10 years of experience, particularly in the Finance domain, to join our team. This hands-on role involves the development, evaluation, and modification of prototypes and models to support evolving hardware and software applications. The successful candidate will have extensive experience with Cognos 11.x, strong proficiency in SQL, and the ability to design, develop, and maintain high-quality Cognos FM models and reports.
You will be part of a dynamic team working in an Agile environment, providing crucial support to product development teams and ensuring the usability, accuracy, and quality of deliverables. This is a unique opportunity to leverage your expertise in the finance domain while working with cutting-edge tools and technologies to improve the usability and functionality of financial products and systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, Develop, and Maintain Cognos FM Models and Reports to support evolving hardware/software applications.
- Implement best practices in the design and development of Cognos FM Models to ensure high-quality deliverables and ease of maintenance.
- Write complex SQL queries with intricate joins and multi-table references, validating results against Cognos Packages and Reports.
- Evaluate and modify prototypes to improve human error control, visual interaction, and task/objective analysis in systems.
- Develop software design/usability processes and provide detailed usability evaluation for product development teams.
- Analyze and investigate applications/systems including tactile methods, visual graphics, web, multimedia, voice response, and conversational user interactions.
- Provide input on user design considerations and assist in the development and implementation of design concepts.
- Develop specifications for user requirements and internal structures for products in development.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, offering technical support and guidance throughout the product lifecycle.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (Advanced degrees are a plus).
- Minimum 10 years of directly relevant experience, including 7-10 years working with Cognos 11.x and ATSCALE in the Finance domain.
- Strong proficiency in SQL, with the ability to write complex queries involving multiple tables and advanced joins, preferably against a Snowflake database.
- Experience with Framework Manager (FM) Models and working in an Agile environment.
- Cognos BI/Analytics Certification is preferred but not required.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
- Experience in business process leadership or as an industry expert in Cognos or related software tools.
- Strong understanding of product usability, including visual graphics, multimedia, and voice response systems.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Hands-on experience with ATSCALE or similar technologies.
- Expertise in finance domain applications and financial modeling.
- Knowledge of human error control and user-centered design principles.
The target hiring compensation range for this role is $67 to $72. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
