We are seeking a Marketing Operations Technical Analyst to join our team and help optimize custom and third-party marketing tools, with a focus on enhancing Sephora’s marketing campaigns. The ideal candidate will maintain a custom tool built in Smartsheet and Python, manage marketing technology systems, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure successful change management across teams. This role is key in driving efficiencies and modernizing campaign execution.
Key Responsibilities:
Smartsheet Tool Maintenance (20%)
- Maintain the functionality of the Smartsheet tool, including sheets and Python scripts, ensuring it works as intended for marketing campaign users.
- Troubleshoot and resolve bugs and technical issues raised by product owners and business users (marketing, merchants).
- Basic Python skills required; experience with Smartsheet is a plus.
Marketing Technology Management (55%)
- Serve as a technical partner for key marketing systems, including Smartsheet, Salesforce, and Monday.com.
- Manage configurations, integrations, and user access for marketing tools.
- Participate in meetings with marketing teams to gather requirements and feedback to develop tool solutions.
- Test and validate tool updates before deployment to ensure alignment with business requirements.
- Oversee the rollout of optimizations, including process development, documentation, and training for non-technical stakeholders.
- Proactively troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, working with internal teams and external vendors.
- Manage user access, permissions, and conduct regular audits to ensure data integrity and security.
Collaboration and Communication
- Collaborate with product owners and business users to refine and optimize Smartsheet workflows for marketing campaigns.
- Identify system bottlenecks and propose improvements based on evolving team needs.
- Effectively communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Experience and Qualifications:
Required Experience:
- 3+ years of experience in Marketing Operations, Marketing Technology, or a similar role.
- Proven experience with key marketing systems such as Smartsheet, Salesforce, and Monday.com.
- Experience in managing configurations, integrations, and user access for marketing tools.
- Demonstrated history of troubleshooting technical issues and collaborating with teams and vendors for resolution.
Technical Skills:
- Python experience, with familiarity in debugging scripts, automating workflows, and managing data.
- Ideal experience with pandas, Apache Spark (Spark SQL, Streaming, MLlib) using PySpark, or a willingness to learn.
- Experience working with external APIs and familiarity with integrating systems.
- Knowledge of Smartsheet solution-building for project and campaign management workflows (including functions, automations, integrations).
- Familiarity with Smartsheet API is a plus.
Analytical Skills:
- Ability to monitor data flows and ensure data integrity and reliability.
- Strong problem-solving skills and proactive issue resolution.
Communication Skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to translate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong collaboration skills to work closely with marketing teams.
Additional Qualities:
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to data integrity.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Marketing, or a related field.
Preferred Certifications (Not Required, but Beneficial):
- Smartsheet Certification (e.g., Certified Smartsheet Professional).
- Python Programming Certification.
- Agile or Scrum Certifications (e.g., Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP)).
The target hiring compensation range for this role is $51 to $57. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
