Our Scientific Lab client is looking for a part time Senior/Principal Illustrator/Multimedia Artist to join their team for specialized projects. The work ebs and flows so the need is for approximately 10-15 hours each week or bi weekly, depending on the work load.
The focus of this role is on photorealistic proposal / technical illustrations.
Description:
• Create special effects, animation, or other visual images using film, video, computers, or
other electronic tools and media for use in products or creations.
• Create two-dimensional and three-dimensional images depicting objects in motion or
illustrating a process, using computer animation or modeling programs.
• Design complex graphics and animation, using independent judgment, creativity, and
computer equipment.
• Make objects appear lifelike by manipulating light, color, texture, shadow, and
transparency, or manipulating static images to give the illusion of motion.
• Apply story development, directing, cinematography, and editing to animation to create
storyboards that show the flow of the animation and map out key scenes and characters.
• Create basic designs, drawings, and illustrations.
• Develop briefings, brochures, multimedia presentations, web pages, promotional
products, technical illustrations, and computer artwork for use in products, technical
manuals, literature, newsletters and slide shows.
• Script, plan, and create animated narrative sequences under tight deadlines, using
computer software and hand drawing techniques.
Required Skills:
• Advanced knowledge and understanding of principles, theories, concepts and techniques
in communications, graphic design, illustration, and storytelling.
• Advanced user of graphics software, including Adobe Creative Suite (Acrobat,
Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop)
Principal: Requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience in 3D Modeling,
Graphic Design, Visual Effects, Illustration, or related discipline plus the following:
• Able to perform exceptionally complex, advanced and unique job functions and
activities independently with little or no supervision required.
• Addresses extremely sensitive, high-level, and unique art, graphic and illustrative
design issues and problems; develops and implements solutions that are timely,
cost-effective, and innovative.
• Consistently incorporates best industry practices for artistic innovation and
production, including new technologies, approaches, and processes, to ensure
fidelity of complex artistic, graphic, and illustrative deliverables.
• Has multidisciplinary and expert knowledge of and significant experience in
establishing industry and/or academic practices and standards across a broad
range of applications.
• Frequent use of an extremely high degree of ingenuity, creativity, and innovation
to extend the boundaries of achievement and knowledge in art, illustration and
graphic design. Applies multidisciplinary and expert knowledge of and
significant experience in fields of knowledge to provide leadership, oversight, and
monitoring to products, services, and/or capabilities; provides assessment of
deliverables; resolves resource issues.
The target hiring compensation range for this role is $40 to $48 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
