This is a REMOTE role with the client based out of Redmond, WA

Pay Range: $42/hr to $46/hr

Duration: Sep 16, 2024 – Jun 30, 2025

Our client is looking for a Software Design Engineer who will conduct client coexistence testing and validation between our client’s Global Secure Access (GSA) solution and 3rd party (3P) Security Service Edge (SSE) ISV solutions in the market including Palo Alto Networks, Netskope, Zscaler, Cisco, Fortinet, Forcepoint, Checkpoint, Skyhigh, iBoss, and Cloudflare. In addition, you may also help design, develop and test migration tooling for any SSE scenarios.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Set up and configure test environments with our client’s GSA service (Entra Private and Internet Access) and each 3rd party SSE solution for side-by-side scenarios. You will be responsible for procuring test licenses for these validations.
  • Document step by step configuration required in each solution for coexistence scenarios.
  • Create a coexistence testing scenario matrix for each 3P ISV with guidance from our client, run test scenarios and validate functionality.
  • Document test results with detailed findings, and report issues promptly to our client.
  • Review coexistence solution guides for accuracy and readability and recommend improvements.
  • Identify opportunities for test automation and create automation solutions.
  • Gather and analyze system requirements, document specifications, and develop software solutions to meet client needs and data.
  • Analyze and review enhancement requests and specifications.
  • Implement system software and customize to client requirements.
  • Prepare the detailed software specifications and test plans.
  • Code new programs to client’s specifications and create test data for testing.
  • Modify existing programs to new standards and conduct unit testing of developed programs.
  • Create migration packages for system testing, user testing, and implementation.
  • Provide quality assurance reviews.
  • Perform post-implementation validation of software and resolve any bugs found during testing.

 

Requirements:

  • 4-6 years experience required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required.
  • A solid foundation in computer science, with strong competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design.
  • Large systems software design and development experience.
  • Experience performing in-depth troubleshooting and unit testing with both new and legacy production systems. Experience in programming and experience with problem diagnosis and resolution.
  • Experience or strong knowledge in computer networking is preferred. Knowledge and experience with SSE products in strongly preferred. Terraform or experience with Infrastructure as a code (IaC) tools is strongly preferred.

The target hiring compensation range for this role is $42/hr to $46/hr.
