We are looking for a Senior Packaging Designer for our retail client. This Packaging Designer will be an experienced creative with a focus on packaging design (retail) with strong file management and project management skills.  This will be an ongoing temp engagement and hybrid role based in Portland, OR with at least 3 days onsite. The projected start is the middle of June. 

Requirements :

  •  Must have specific Packaging Design experience with Consumer Packaging Goods or General Merchandising layouts
  • 5+ years of Packaging Design experience
  •  Packaging compliance knowledge as it relates to applying these requirements to the packaging layouts. Familiar with FPLA, NIST, and regulatory rules for packaging.  
  •  Adobe Illustrator, Microsoft Office Suite, Acrobat, and cloud-based proofing software (Ziflow/Workfront/ProofHQ).
  • File management, organization, and project management skills 
  • Must be a self-starter, capable of managing priorities in a fast-paced business
  • Prepress knowledge, including color separation understanding and packaging files for release to 3rd party agencies
  • Excellent Adobe Illustrator skills, including Pantone Connect and custom extensions/libraries
  • Excellent communication skills for internal and external clients, including the ability to concisely communicate written guidance via email, artboard instructions, proofing comments, and routing feedback

Responsibilities: 

  • Packaging design and proofing sequences
  • Packaging mechanicals, file maintenance & delivery of assets
  • Communicating with internal/external customers to collect details
  • Collaborate on project requests and combine client requests with brand aesthetics/guidelines
  • Compose layouts, route for stakeholder reviews, apply corrections, and iterate until signoff
  • Proactively contribute to the team/design needs
  • Design on other brand deliverables as needed
