This UXR will work with 5 other UXR sharing the research portfolio and collaborating closely with UXDs, PMs, and Eng in this area. This UXR will be a mid-level UXR who could own and drive a regular cadence of concept / usability studies and support high-velocity, high-impact generative research for various parts of the core experience, as well as plan research with in-house UXRs in adjacent areas across the company, if applicable. This UXR will likely be juggling requests from a couple of workstream product teams at once.

The UXR will need to:

  • Plan, conduct, measure, and analyze user research, partnering UXDs, the UXR manager, and PM/Eng functions
  • Collaborate with the UXR manager to align on timelines and requirements for study recruitment and participation
  • Understand and incorporate complex technical and business requirements into research
  • Communicate research insights to stakeholders and team members through topline and in-detail reports
  • Support ongoing UX research logistics, including organizing research sessions, taking notes during study sessions
  • Plan, observe, and moderate generative and evaluative research- usability testing sessions, concept validation, rapid iterative research, and interviews when deemed necessary- at a regular cadence w/UXDs
  • Conduct inspection-based research, diary studies, and literature reviews where appropriate for the current project
  • Own study analysis and synthesis, including generating insights and immediately-actionable recommendations in written reports

Mandatory Skills/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Science, Statistics, Psychology, Anthropology, related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience in an applied research setting, or similar.
  • Experience with research design utilizing various methods (e.g., usability studies, contextual inquiry, surveys, etc.).
  • Strong experience in conducting iterative generative / evaluative work & turning things around quickly and presenting insights to XFN product team/stakeholders.
  • Past record working with XFN partners including UXD, PM, and Engineering.
  • Strong communication and project management skills; this UXR will be working with both in-house and potentially 3rd vendor agencies to conduct research.
  • Comfortable collaborating with others in a fast-paced research environment.

Non-Essential Skills/Qualifications: 

  • Experience doing research on a variety of form factors (tablet, desktop, phablet, mobile) within India, US, and UK markets
  • Experience designing, executing, and analyzing off-platform surveys (e.g. Qualtrics)
  • Experience with other common research tools, e.g. UserTesting, dScout, Figma
  • Experience conducting a11y/equity focused research
  • Open to feedback & agile, with strong growth mindset and grit
  • 2 years of experience working with senior leadership (e.g., Director level and above).
  • 2 years of experience conducting UX research on products, managing projects, and working in a large, matrixed organization.
  • Strong understanding of the strengths and shortcomings of different research methods, including when and how to apply them during the product development process.
  • Experience in a variety of product spaces, applied research and/or academic settings.
  • Proficiency in communicating user research findings with cross-functional partners to drive impact.

The target hiring compensation range for this role is the equivalent of $112.83 to $125.37 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
