Description:

Join us in revolutionizing user experiences where you’ll spearhead a team of UX Content Designers under the guidance of the Manager of UX & Design. Your mission is to collaborate closely with design leadership and cross-functional partners to shape and execute comprehensive UX content strategies, setting enterprise-wide standards and guidelines. With a focus on digital touchpoints, you’ll elevate user interactions, ensuring they align seamlessly with our client’s established tone and voice while meeting strategic objectives.

Our client is looking for a true leader-someone who has managed a team and can help navigate the product side with finesse, offering mentorship and guidance while fostering a collaborative and nurturing environment. You would ensure that the team receives the attention and support they need to thrive individually and collectively. Experience in product development is paramount, as well as familiarity with conversation banking, AI, and chatbots, coupled with an understanding of Agile Scrum methodology.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Leadership: Team leader experienced in and capable of leading an 8+ person team of UX Content Designers.
  • Architect Clear and Scalable Content: Lead the development of robust design systems and documentation, crafting content that is not only clear and concise but also scalable across diverse product offerings.
  • Define and Socialize Best Practices: Create, maintain, and evolve voice and tone style guides, UX content guidelines, and other self-serve materials, fostering a culture of excellence in content creation.
  • Coach and Develop Talent: Act as the career manager for a team of UX Copy and Content Designers, providing leadership, coaching, and identifying growth opportunities to cultivate top-tier talent.
  • Drive User Engagement: Influence copy and content implementation throughout product design to ensure optimal user engagement and comprehension.
  • Leverage Data for Alignment: Communicate content-related research and benchmarking data to internal stakeholders, ensuring alignment on strategy and objectives.
  • Optimize Workflow Processes: Investigate and resolve content workflow discrepancies internally and during product development efforts, championing efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Define UX Content Strategy: Serve as a subject matter expert for UX content design, shaping strategy and feedback loops to integrate UX copy seamlessly into team processes.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for improvement, implement enhancements, and streamline workflow processes to continually elevate UX operations.
  • Ensure Deliverable Excellence: Ensure team deliverables meet and exceed customer expectations, adhering to timelines and budget constraints.
  • Collaborative Documentation: Collaborate with Assistant Managers of UX and Visual Design to craft comprehensive Design Ops Documentation, empowering the team with essential resources.
  • User-Centric Innovation: Utilize user research and feedback mechanisms to inform the development of effective and accessible internal and external products.
  • Industry Integration: Incorporate industry best practices while maintaining alignment with Navy Federal’s strategic goals and organizational capabilities.
  • Adaptability: Perform other related duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and readiness to contribute across diverse projects and initiatives.

 

Attributes we seek:

 

  • Experience in financial institutions preferred. Ideally, a combination of agency and financial expertise to bring a diverse perspective to the role.
  • Experience in managing UX content designers, guiding them in design principles and tone and voice.
  • Familiarity with Agile Scrum methodology, navigating challenges and providing guidance within this framework.
  • Familiarity with AI, chatbots and related.
  • Prior experience managing people is critical, embodying a blend of leadership, humility, and adaptability.
  • Ability to mentor and nurture team members, providing 1-on-1 attention and support.
  • A strategic approach to problem-solving and decision-making, aligned with the company’s vision.
  • Strong comprehension of product development processes.
  • Ability to actively listen, observe, and understand team dynamics and challenges.
