Our global technology client is looking for a Technical Writer in Seattle, WA. This is a hybrid position and you must be able to commute onsite 3x a week. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background and exceptional writing skills to effectively communicate complex technical information to diverse audiences. As a Technical Writer, individuals will play a key role in creating comprehensive and user-friendly documents.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Research and Understand Technical Concepts:

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to gather information on technical concepts, processes, and products.
  •  Conduct in-depth research to comprehend complex technical topics.

2. Create Clear and Concise Documentation:

  •  Develop white papers that are clear, concise, and easy to understand.
  • Translate technical jargon into user-friendly content for both technical and non-technical audiences.

3. Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams:

  • Work closely with engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and up-to-date information is incorporated into documentation.

4. Review and Edit Existing Documentation:

  • Review and edit existing documentation to maintain accuracy and relevance.
  •  Ensure documentation complies with company standards and industry best practices.

5. Stay Updated on Technological Advancements:

  • Keep abreast of industry trends and technological advancements to incorporate the latest information into documentation.

6. Manage Documentation Lifecycle:

  • Organize and maintain a documentation repository, ensuring easy access and version control.
  • Update documentation as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • 8-10 years of experience as a Technical Writer in a technology-focused environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Technical Writing, Computer Science, Engineering).
  • 5+ years of Strong Technical Background (Data Center, ADO, Cloud, or similar Technology preferred)
  • 8+ years of business communication, professional collaboration
  •  Strong understanding of technical concepts, software development, and IT infrastructure.
  •  Exceptional writing and editing skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Proficiency in documentation tools and software
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with graphic design tools for creating visuals to accompany documentation.
  • Previous experience in cloud computing, software development, or related fields.
  • Portfolio or writing samples must be submitted for consideration. 

The target hiring compensation range for this role is the equivalent of $55.85 to $62.05 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
