AI Principles

1. AI for the Greater Good

We believe AI should be a force for positive change, respecting human dignity and promoting societal well-being. We strive to incorporate AI in our processes and practices in order to deliver on our company’s core principles by providing consumer value, competitive advantage, and promote continuous learning and improvement for the benefit of our talent, clients, partners, and the broader community. This commitment includes taking a holistic approach to AI, collaborating with stakeholders and considering the broader context in which our technologies operate.

2. Human Empowerment through AI

AI should enhance, not replace, human judgement and discretion. We will commit ourselves to designing AI systems that include human control and agency. We will incorporate meaningful human oversight and the option for human intervention into our AI processing operations where possible, with the ultimate goal of implementing technology solutions that enable humans and AI to collaborate effectively to create positive and valuable outcomes for our employees, talent and clients.

3. Shedding Light on AI

We believe in transparency and open and honest communication about our use of AI. When interacting with our AI systems, individuals should have the right to:

  • Be informed that they are engaging with AI.
  • Understand the reasoning and logic behind the decisions made about them

4. Embedding Equity in AI

We will ensure that fairness and inclusivity are incorporated into our AI development philosophy. AI systems that can produce legal or similarly significant effects will be assessed to ensure that they treat individuals equitably and uphold the principles of non-discrimination, diversity, and inclusion. This requires integrating safeguards and incorporating diverse perspectives throughout the AI lifecycle, ensuring our technology reflects and respects the social fabric it operates within.

5. Responsible AI Practices

We are committed to AI safety and fairness as well as developing and deploying AI responsibly and ethically. This includes adhering to all applicable contractual obligations, laws and regulations, including those specific to AI, intellectual property, privacy, data protection, and cybersecurity. To achieve this:

  • The data processed by AI should be representative, accurate, necessary, proportionate, and fit-for-purpose
  • Our AI systems should be robust and resilient against unexpected changes, inputs or adversarial attacks.
  • Outputs from our AI systems should be accurate, reliable and free of bias

6. Ownership of AI's Impact

We acknowledge the profound impact of AI and take full responsibility for its ethical use. Those involved in developing and deploying our AI systems are accountable for their operation, just as those that employ them are accountable for proper use and oversight.  The Company is responsible for ensuring any identified risks are sufficiently mitigated.
