AQUENT is partnering with one of our COOLEST clients to help them identify a talented Visual/UI Designer to join their team in Northern, VA.

• Visual Designer: You know how to create beautiful things, but more importantly, you’re brave enough to cut everything if it’s not working. Simplicity, editing, and a fierce focus on the most important elements is part of what defines your design philosophy.

• Design Thinker: You’ll uncover real business problems, prototype low-fidelity ways of solving that problem, and then design full-scale experiences that serve millions of people every. single. day.

• Customer Advocate: People who experience our designs should feel like we really know them. That’s possible when we keep our customers (and people who aren’t yet our customers) at the core of all our designs.

•An excellent portfolio demonstrating digital and/or traditional projects
•Obsessed with honing your craft and trying new things
•Exceptional design aesthetic and solid typography skills
•Your obsessed with interaction design
•Experience working in Adobe Creative Cloud and Sketch
•Working knowledge of responsive and adaptive design
•Strong organizational skills and extreme attention to detail
•You are eager to define and improve your design through feedback from real users and teammates
•Able to thoroughly understand the conceptual basis of a brand and how it should inform design, and experience adhering to style guides.
•A skilled presenter and have the ability to articulate design decisions to a variety of audiences
About You:
•You are a self-starting problem solver who is driven by their craft.
•Your definition of UX/UI Design is inextricable with visual and motion design.
•You thrive on collaboration, and communicate ideas effectively.

Minimum Qualifications
•2-5 years visual design and/or user interface (UI/UX) design
•Experience being held accountable for the design and execution of design tracks within digital and/or embedded products, working alongside engineers and product owners.
•Experience creating interaction specifications to be used by Engineers and QA.

Preferred but not required:
•Prototyping tools such as Axure and InVision.
•Ability to use animation programs desired, but not required
•Have a general understanding of frontend development including HTML/CSS/Javascript as well as a conceptual understanding of backend development (Code experience is not required but a plus)
