Senior Manager, Content Strategy

Our client is a leader in the technology and consumer electronics space and has asked for Aquent's help in identifying several positions including a Senior Manager of Content Strategy for a possible CONTRACT to HIRE position.
Location- just outside of Austin, Tx. Ideally the Talent will work onsite Monday-Friday but our client may consider Talent working remote 2-3 days a week.
Client will help pay for relocation in some situations
Duration- possible contract to hire

Our client is seeking a driven, dynamic leader to oversee content strategy for User Experience Design team. You will lead a team of content experts, partner with UX and visual design to drive standards and governance, and help our agile product-engineering teams deliver a delightful, unified experience for millions of Dell customers worldwide.

While tactical expertise is helpful, the ability to craft a vision for the client's content and lead—both directly and through influence—our writers, designers, developers, and business partners is paramount to success in this role. You will need a positive outlook, a passion for collaboration, and a belief in the power of content to transform and unite the customer experience.

Primary Responsibilities:
· Champion content strategy and proactively share your vision to leaders, stakeholders, peers, and team members
· Manage a team of content strategists that, while led by you, share accountability for success with their respective UX Design leads across our Agile product teams
· Guide and motivate your team to work strategically and collaboratively in our fast-paced, Agile environment
· Stay up on developments in the evolving field of content strategy, and inspire our UX team to learn and grow accordingly
· Educate and influence teams external to UX Design both informally (through daily engagement and 1:1 interaction) and formally (through training and related programs)
· Manage the Style Guide and partner with our UX Standards team to build content oversight into our open Web-standards framework and global governance processes
· Team with engineering to develop flexible, repeatable processes for content strategy in our Agile (Scrum-based) environment
· Team with analytics and customer-experience leads to ensure that data and customer insights drive content decisions and standards—including the evolution of our CMS
· Develop KPIs (key performance indicators) for content success, and use these to drive continuous improvement at the product and CMS levels
· Sit on—and proactively integrate yourself and your team into—pan- content efforts, including marketing content strategy, large-scale content audits, content training, and the acquisition and onboarding of content consultancies
· Think and work globally to ensure the success of content across all properties and languages, and lead content-localization discussions for our new Agile process


Desired Experience:
· Our ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree or higher in marketing, English, journalism, technical publishing, or related fields, along with at least 3 years of hands-on experience in Web content strategy or global Web content management. Prior management experience is helpful but not essential, but the ability to lead and inspire others is critical.

· Passion for content strategy as a discipline and customer experience as a shared mission
· Effective organizational and project-management skills
· Effective communication and presentation skills
· Ability to identify critical insights (whether through trends or through hard data) and organize them into actionable plans that can be shared across content, UX, development, and marketing
· Experience working in and evaluating Web content-management systems (MOSS experience a plus)
· Facility with Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite, as well as a basic understanding of HTML and CSS (your team will work in code to some degree)
· Superior editing and proofreading skills, as well as demonstrable professional experience writing for the Web (particularly in global environments)
· Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative, deadline-driven environment (prior Agile and Scrum experience desirable but not mandatory)
· Experience with social media, cross-platform publishing, and evolving trends in mobile publishing and design
· Experience with SEO (search engine optimization) and a general understanding of how to use search insights to drive content improvements
