We have an opportunity for a mid- to senior-level contract Marketing Communications Consultant with a major Health Insurance Provider in the Minneapolis area. The purpose of this role is to consult on activation and engagement marketing communications, and create and implement data-driven, strategic marketing communications plans that achieve client objectives.


 Bachelor’s degree, generally in Marketing, Communications, Journalism or related field
 5 to 7+ years of marketing communications planning and execution experience
 Excellent account management skills
 Excellent verbal communications skills
 Demonstrated creativity in developing effective marketing communications programs for consumer audiences using data and analytics
 Strong analytical skills
 Creative writing for promotional and marketing items (generate and propose campaign themes, designs, flyers, texting, newsletters and ads).
 Ability to interpret client brand guidelines to deliver communications materials that have consistency of language, tone and branding
 Excellent computer skills and proficient user of Microsoft Office products
 Excellent proofreading and editing skills for print and web
 Ability to thrive in fast-paced, collaborative work environment with multiple priorities
 Strong attention to detail
 Knowledge of AP Style
 Ability to execute tight turnaround times and meet quick deadlines


 Marketing/communications experience in well-being
 Experience working with a collaborative team, managing multiple contributors
 Experience with internal communications


This position is responsible for consulting on and managing well-being marketing and communications activities to support national accounts and products. The consultant will be assigned a portfolio of clients and will be responsible
for working with sales account managers and well-being client managers on communications projects to engage key audiences in their health and well-being. This position is also responsible for consumer communications plans and

Responsibilities include:

Communications planning and execution
Develops communications strategies and leads integrated communications programs that support client internal communications plans.

 Plan, execute and measure integrated engagement communications programs
 Use influencing skills, writing, and presentation/speaking skills to lead multiple communications projects, manage product budgets, interpret and apply policies, and analyze data to make strategic and tactical
 Create and deliver on communications plans in conjunction with external clients and internal partners

Account management

 Anticipate customer needs; ensure customer-focused and professional communication service delivery
 Plan and lead weekly on-site meetings with clients
 Manage and negotiate with partners and clients regarding expectations, deadlines, pricing, etc.
 Maintain superior relationships with our client management teams, working together to create communications and engagement solutions
 Manage all metrics associated with processes to include cycle times, quality and other service measures

Project management

This position consults with business partners to clarify and define project or process requirements, including the development of communications plans. Project management responsibilities include:

 Gather project requirements
 Develop and maintain project documentation
 Track and report project and budget status
 Document new or revised processes and procedures
 Serve as point of contact for project information and updates
