iT Communications Manager, Marketing (MARJP00005944)

The Information Technology (IT) Change Management and Strategic Communications department is responsible for building and delivering business capabilities in the areas of change management, marketing and communications. The department’s work is focused broadly on strengthening the alignment between business priorities and organizational strategy (structure, processes, systems, culture, etc.). Through specific expertise in organizational, process, and change efforts, and marketing communications, the department works to ensure Marriott International (MI) optimizes its return on human capital investments through a high performing organization. The primary “clients” of the department are Information Resources Leaders.



As a member of the Information Technology Change Management and Strategic Communications team, the Senior Manager will provide marketing, branding and communications counsel for Information Resources. Specifically, the Senior Manager will be responsible for planning, developing, and delivering effective marketing, branding and communication strategies, work products and materials for Information Resources and in close partnership with our Change Management Team.



CANDIDATE PROFILE



Required Education:

• Bachelor’s degree



Required Experience:

• 6+ years’ experience of marketing, branding and communications planning and execution experience.

• Exceptional communication skills – both written and verbal.

• Experience with project work.

• Ability to work with and influence a wide range of cross-functional work teams and leaders within a matrix organization.

• Comfort managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, but also at times able to supervise and lead small teams (both direct and matrixed).
• Facility in presenting and delivering high-level, impactful results/recommendations to senior-level leaders.

• Ability to work with and through others as member of a team.

• Ability to influence others and move toward a common vision or goal.



Preferred Experience:

• Graduate degree, MS/MBA (or equivalent) in Business Management, Psychology, or Related Field.

• Change management exposure/experience.

• Information Technology experience.

• Hospitality/Lodging industry experience.

• Exhibits leadership presence; ability to establish credibility.

• Highly organized and able to handle multiple priorities at any given point in time.

• Results oriented; delivers results under difficult conditions and demonstrates balanced judgment under pressure.

• Collaborative; team player.

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES



Marketing and Communications

 Consult with the IT change management team and clients/stakeholders to translate business needs into marketing, branding and communications solutions.

 Lead the development of an integrated Information Technology strategic marketing and communication framework to align messages, channels and resources to the organization’s most critical needs.

 Develop and implement high quality, innovative, cost-effective marketing and communications programs, collateral, products and services targeted to both internal and external audiences.

 Manage IT marketing communication strategies for key internal and external target audiences/stakeholders, and execution through internal (IT communication channels, social business collaboration) and external channels (social media channels)

 Establish methods to measure the effectiveness of marketing and communications efforts, set targets, track results, and improve programs. Lead data collection efforts and analyze data and feedback to inform strategy development; track performance and recommend solutions to continuously improve performance.

 Provide consultation, diagnostics, planning, and end-to-end client management on projects supported.



Branding

 Facilitate the design, definition and packaging of the “look & feel” of the IT experience, utilizing innovative channels to deliver the IR brand strategy.

 Ensure cross-functional collaboration by partnering with Talent Acquisition, Public Relations, and IT leaders to pull IT brand strategy through all aspects of the IR life cycle.

 Tap diverse sources of information, identifying opportunities, anticipating challenges, and devising and executing breakthrough Information Resources marketing strategies to deliver against current and future project and organizational priorities.

 Access and synthesize data from a variety of sources to formulate informed viewpoints on marketing and communications issues.



Communication Channel Optimization

 Lead the design, deployment and optimization of external and internal Information Resources channels that are the most relevant to the target audiences (generations, geographies, etc.) and support the accomplishment of strategic Information Resources business priorities.

 Coordinate efforts with broader company-wide external social media and internal business social collaboration initiatives that leverage digital channels to drive innovation and optimize the performance of the IT discipline.

 Lead development of channel activation plans and manage team driving social media channel activation for recognition of Marriott’s IT capabilities

Consult with leadership teams on opportunities to leverage business collaboration technologies to enable innovation, productivity and engagement. Provide consultative services on channel activation, content strategy and engagement optimization.
