iOS Content/Messaging Writer

Our client, the leader in consumer electronics, is looking for a talented Technical Communication & Documentation Specialist to support their team on a 7 month contract.

Job Description:
Writes, edits, reviews and oversees release of internal communication and documentation messaging that support specific internal applications and teams. Directs communication through media including our intranet, email, and in-app messaging.
Ensures clarity, accuracy, alignment with the business, and that the correct “voice” permeates throughout all messaging.
Recommends effective and comprehensive communication strategies to business partners.
Coordinates internal communication efforts with cross-functional partners who focus on other internal and external communications.
Regularly engages with global partners ensuring work is being performed consistently, efficiently and with scalability in mind.
Writes technical documentation for internal applications.
Organizes documentation in a logical and cohesive framework so that it may be easily used and be maintained.
Partners with various departments to keep abreast of company developments and trends.

Focuses:
- HelpLine with creating and maintaining Troubleshooting-related articles and Service Alert messaging
- UX-related app messaging, including potentially Radar, Merlin and eApproval documentation
- Business Planning and possibly SAP/GBI content.
- EMEIA-specific documentation

Key Requirements:
- Act as the main point of contact for several internal technical teams to create comprehensive communication strategies for their applications including screen messages and email notifications
- Create and execute the communication strategies
- Be able to state what the purpose of the assigned app is, why and how it started, how the app owner measures success
- Gain access to the applications’ release schedule
- Update and maintain our internal Release Schedule calendar and summary page
- Share any feedback on the assigned app and adjust communication as needed
- Obtain access to the app owner’s reporting to assess your communication strategy’s effectiveness
- Establish and maintain ongoing meetings with the app owner and HelpLine
- 5-7 years professional experience with using a Mac and iOS platforms

Competencies, 3-5 years professional experience with:
- Writing and modifying HTML
- Navigating a content management solution
- Writing technical content for web and iOS platforms (Mac-based content preferred)
- Experience with working as part of a global team
- Familiarity with the Chicago Manual of Style is a plus
- Strong project management skills
- Organized, approachable, detail-oriented
- Possesses strong interpersonal skills and keen business acumen
- Ability to synthesize technical information and from it, craft clear written direction for a wide range of technical users
- Ability to manage time to meet tight deadlines for planned yet remain flexible for unplanned work
- Ability to recommend communication plan to achieve an application’s goals
- Quick learner; doesn’t require hand-holding; is a team-player

Nice to have:
- Knowledge of CSS
- Image manipulation skills
- Marketing background and experience
- Copy editing
- Process-oriented
