Job title: Instructional Designer and eLearning Developer

An instructional designer/eLearning developer to help in the creation of information security related courseware and trainings. This is a hands-on role with the opportunity to take part in the design and development of security oriented instructional material. In this role you will play an integral role as a team member whose primary role will be to design and develop learning solutions including but not limited to web/computer-based learning, virtual webinars, instructor-led and blended learning. You will work with subject matter experts (SMEs) to obtain the information to be taught; and you will organize it into logical, instructional patterns that are appropriate for the level of expertise of the end users.
This individual will require a strong understanding of adult learning theory, learner retention and application as it applies to the information security industry. A strong knowledge of Instructional Design Methodology is also needed (ex. ADDIE and/or SAM), as well as a strong ability in graphic design and layout, in developing eLearning modules that are engaging, and memorable. The ideal candidate is a team player and creative who can design and develop using Adobe Captivate, Adobe Articulate, Adobe Photoshop, Camtasia and other eLearning development software. Candidate must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

• Excels at the Discovery, Design, Development, Delivery and Evaluation process to deliver projects on time and within budget to meet business requirements.
• Can design and deliver learning products in a variety of formats including online, virtual and face-to-face trainings
• Able to work with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to create accurate, useful training modules by translating ideas and concepts into learning experiences while ensuring quality and consistency in the development process
• Experienced at successfully managing training course projects from inception to completion
• Provide multimedia support to enhance lesson content, i.e. animation, video, interactions, scenarios, exercises and immersive learning exercises.

Required Skills / Experience

• 5+ years of instructional design experience and solid knowledge of adult learning principles
• Must possess proficiency in Articulate, Captivate, Camtasia, Adobe CS, and PowerPoint skills, with demonstrated work samples showing complex eLearning course development
• Experience creating and managing interactive eLearning modules
• Competent presentation skills for online or classroom training delivery
• Good requirements gathering skills, ability to take complex ideas and communicate clearly and effectively
• Ability to understand and explain highly technical topics
• Excellent knowledge of Photoshop and Captivate
• Ability to design graphics that can be updated/reused as needed
• Scriptwriting experience for Train-the-Trainer projects
• Ability to work productively with a minimum of supervision
• Good organization and communication skills
• Strong communicational and interpersonal skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Information Security knowledge or background a plus

Key Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, certificate in CLPL, or other applicable curriculum that focuses on learning
• Experience in instructional design, and development of web/computer-based learning , preferably within the security or technology industries, participating in all phases of the project life cycle and producing creative learning solutions
• Detailed knowledge of instructional design process and adult learning theory
• Proven superior writing skills, including the ability to write concise, creative and effective instruction
• Excellent creative and analytical skills and the ability to convert information and needs into practical training deliverables
• Self-starter who possesses exceptional time management skills and has great attention to detail
• Strong soft skills and ability to develop relationships quickly
• Global thinker who performs well an agile, fast-paced, sometimes ambiguous environment
• Open to, proactively asks for, and acts on feedback received
• Demonstrable excellent project and time management skills
• Must be a team player and act independently and be self-motivated
