eCommerce Copy Writer

Our client, one of the largest gaming companies in the world, is currently searching for an on-site eCommerce Copywriter to work with the Global eCommerce team. The successful applicant will be joining a fast-paced team and will be tasked with developing direct marketing and merchandising copy for a major site portal, our client's new direct-to-consumer platform for playing, buying and socializing. The success of this game is one of this company's most important corporate initiatives, and will have the rare opportunity to join this team at a critical and exciting time.

The ideal candidate will have the ability to communicate clearly and tactfully, multitask to meet tight deadlines, and make independent decisions in a rapidly paced and constantly changing environment.

The eCommerce Copywriter will work closely with the Sr. Manager of eCommerce to develop and own the editorial tone and direction of the direct marketing and eCommerce content for the game team, coordinating with changing business priorities and audience. He or she will manage all content including direct selling and demand-generation copy, site content, imagery and interactive and social tools. S/he also needs to ensure quality of all content on the game site and work cross-functionally to schedule regular cadences and manage communications with Marketing, Site Management, and Operations.


• Bachelor’s degree
• 5+ years of experience in online journalism / eCommerce copy writing
• Experience with SEO is desirable
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and organize number of concurrent projects under time pressure
• Strong writing, editing, and copy editing skills
• Strong passion for gaming
• Experience with HTML and CSS is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.


• This is a 6-12 month, full-time, W-2 contract position located in Redwood Shores, CA
• This position is not eligible for telecommute or offsite work
