XAML Developer/Designer

The Car team is creating the next generation of vehicle information and entertainment systems and we are looking for motivated, driven and experienced XAML developers to help us define the future of vehicle infotainment for millions of drivers across the globe.

As a respected member of our research and design studio you will be building exciting, groundbreaking designs as you work closely with our designers, researchers and the platform development team. You will be building the complete experience on top of an embedded platform using WPF and C#. You will be architecting the XAML code, enabling the infotainment system to work in cars from many different manufacturing lines with different branding and with different physical feature sets. Your own skills will sharpen as you work with speech interaction specialists. You enjoy perfecting the important details, even as you team with backend developers writing in C++ and work daily with a world-class testing team.

You are the ideal candidate because you have shipped multiple software products and you know how to build custom WPF controls in order to drive the delivery of high-quality user-centered solutions. You have an unbridled passion for all aspects of build design and elegant coding. You’ve been looking for the perfect place to bring your love of building beautiful user interfaces and join that love to the satisfaction you gain from constructing elegant, highly efficient code. You have the ability to grasp and distill complex issues and determine solutions. You have strong communication skills and you love creating and giving amazing presentations that persuade and impact senior management. You’re always proactive, organized and your self-motivation is infectious. You are naturally curious about emerging web and mobile technologies and you often challenge traditional designs in your own mind while in the shower or while drifting off to sleep.

Basic Qualifications:
• 7+ years of experience in presentation-layer code development.
• 4+ years of experience with WPF or Silverlight XAML.
• 2+ years of experience with WPF XAML.
• Proficiency using TFS and agile methodology is preferred.
• A project portfolio showing strong XAML skills, the ability to create custom XAML controls, and a thorough understanding of Windows 8 App (including Windows Phone 8 Apps) construction is desired.
• Bachelor’s degree (Master’s Degree preferred) in Computer Science or Computer Engineering is preferred.
