• Must juggle numerous projects simultaneously; communicate with in-house clients and Creative Services team to meet client needs as well as meet certain brand and editorial standards.

• Proofread and edit work to ensure written materials meet grammatical standards and communicate messages with “one voice” to increase mission awareness and brand identity (we use “mom’s caring friend” tone).

• Creative team-player with good interpersonal skills and strong project management and organization skills to meet tight deadlines for in-house clients and designers; friendly, outgoing personality very important
Attention to details is key 2 to 5 years directly related experience
4-year college degree

• This is a long-term freelance position, starting with 3 months full-time work (approx. 9 to 5), physically in White Plains office; applicants should know that the time could be extended, and the agency should know that if we really like
the person and their work, this could lead to a permanent position. We prefer to see people who can keep the assignment open-ended without other writing obligations taking them away from this one. An ideal candidate would be
someone looking for permanent work but willing to start freelance.

• Web writing experience is a very big plus (to round out our team’s skills) as is writing about issues related to moms/babies/children/families/health.

• We don’t need 20 years of experience or people who have more director/editor experience than writing.
We prefer creative marketing writing experience to journalism, PR and editing. The tone for writing assignments will be “mom’s caring friend” for women of childbearing age and the general public, not straight reporting or medical jargon.
