Writer - Financial Services

•Research and write internal and external communications (print and online) as assigned to support the company’s products and services as well as undertake researching and writing content, as required, directed to segments targeted by the company.

Responsibilities:
• Liaise as required with subject matter experts across the company (and with parent companies as required), in order to research and write content to support marketing and sales initiatives surrounding the company’s products and services.
• Undertake senior-level research and writing independently, seeking to produce content that differentiates and achieves objectives.
• Writing will include, but not be limited to, brochures; sales sheets; knowledge leadership pieces; PowerPoint presentations; web copy; e-newsletters; advertising; news releases; content to support tax/regulatory client communications; and various internal communications as required.
• Undertake research, writing and obtain approvals in accordance with the Policies & Procedures established for product marketing communications; and maintain records of processes followed to ensure full and accurate records available for periodic internal audits.
• Update existing content as and when required, to reflect product/service enhancements and/or landscape/environmental changes.
• Proofread all content (print and online) prior to internal and external release.
• Managing (including writing and posting content) on the company’s intranet site, to specific department pages as assigned.

Qualifications:
• University degree or certificate in Journalism.
• Advanced research, writing and verbal communication skills.
• Minimum 10 years of progressive corporate and product marketing communications experience in financial services sector, including web writing.
• Knowledge of marketing concepts and theories.
• Canadian Securities Course, an asset.
• Excellent PC skills, including PowerPoint.
• SharePoint experience in writing, uploading and managing intranet content.
