A design studio in Atlanta, GA has an immediate temp-to-hire opportunity for an expert WordPress Developer who is driven by their passion to make WordPress do amazing things. You will be responsible for writing clean, well-commented, and valid code – including XHTML/HTML5, CSS, PHP, JavaScript/jQuery, and MySQL queries – by hand. The ideal candidate should possess the ability to thrive in a pixel-perfect and fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
• Write clean, well-commented, and valid code
• Write XHTML/HTML5, CSS, PHP, JavaScript/jQuery, and MySQL by hand
• Write media queries
• Build pixel-perfect front-end web pages and translate code into custom WordPress themes
• Customize WordPress to meet specific CMS requirements per client
• Develop new, and customize existing, WordPress plugins
• Create and update re-usable code libraries to streamline WordPress development cycle
• Integrate payment gateways, such as PayPal and Authorize.net for online payments (very infrequent need)
• Assist with site documentation and training manuals
• Interface with designers, project managers, and clients

Requirements
• Expert knowledge of XHTML/HTML5, CSS3, PHP, JavaScript/jQuery, and MySQL
• Expert knowledge of WordPress customization
• Expert knowledge of WordPress plugin customization and/or development
• Expert knowledge of web standards and general usability best practices
• Advanced knowledge of cross-browser testing compatability
• Advanced knowledge of page load optimization techniques, such as the use of sprites
• Advanced knowledge of web font integration (@font-face, Google Web Fonts, Cufón, etc.)
• Advanced knowledge of third-party integration through APIs, especially Google products
• Advanced knowledge of social media channels and integration
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of responsive design philosophy and media queries
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of search engine optimization
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of LAMP hosting environments
• Ability to manage several projects at once
• Attention to detail
• A can-do attitude and enthusiasm for creative solutions
• A passion for pushing the boundaries of current possibilities, producing award-winning sites, and delighting clients

The position will be primarily be on site but may have some flexibility for occasional remote days. This position would start around 20 hours a week but hoping to grow to 30-40 hours next year.
