Company in San Diego seeks Website Manager to oversee their website as well as coordinate any new technical developments. The Website Manager responsibilities will include adding and modifying website functionality, bug fixing, specification writing, testing and coordinating contractors. The role requires technical excellence, marketing acumen, as well as the ability to communicate with internal and external audiences of all levels.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Manage the design and development of a comprehensive web site.
- Provide continuing design and maintenance support, optimizing the site for search engine and social media traffic.
- Implement site governance protocols as well as web content management processes and procedures.
- Develop policies, standards, practices and security measures to ensure effective and consistent information processing and to safeguard information resources.
- Identify key content voids and opportunities and work with subject matter experts (SMEs) to provide ongoing content.
- Manage site operation and guide copywriters, marketing agencies and public relations firms in creating content.
- Develop the end-to-end processes and procedures for content creation, approval, storage and retrieval for multiple cross-functional resources.
- Assist with integration of social media into web presence.
- Primary point of strategic continuity for content across multiple programs and initiatives.
- Drive creative and architectural development of electronic/web-based initiatives with third party vendors, to minimize cost and maximize quality.
- Coordinate end user requirements with technical architecture to ensure a cohesive user experience on all marketing owned web properties.
- Provide ideas and recommendations to web developers and marketing agency on functionality, content, and architecture of various sites to maximize performance and traffic.
- Manage search engine optimization (SEO) campaign development, implementation and maintenance, including budget and vendor management.
- Manage the reporting and analysis of all web analytics, working with IT to ensure correct implementation.
- Work closely with marketing manager in creation, distribution and repurposing of web email and online campaigns, working with IT and vendors to ensure data structure meets all privacy laws and adheres to legal standards.
- Monitor web market trends and technology developments to ensure company sites stay current in functionality and performance.
- Develop key performance metrics for marketing website; monitor and refine websites’ performance and content to achieve metric goals.
- Develop reports, dashboards, and processes to provide business insights and monitor data quality and integration.
- Work closely with and supervise third-party developers and contractors; writing functional specifications for external developers.
- Work in close partnership with program, policy and marketing teams as well as other staff to evaluate needs and identify new opportunities to leverage technology in the execution of work.
- Identify needs and translate them into technology decisions and systems.

This position supervises marketing function of third-party program management contractors. This position may need to hire and direct the work on external contractors.
