We’re looking for a web writer to join us. We’ll be counting on you not just to write great copy for a page here or an email there, but to support creating whole experiences, where all the pieces of content complement one another and meet customer needs from start to finish. All of the content you deliver should reflect the thoughtful application that takes into account best practices, style and voice guidelines, product knowledge, business objectives, and a thorough understanding of your audience.

Responsibilities
• Create compelling content based on customer needs, business objectives, and product behavior.
• Improve the quality of the content based on feedback from user research, content strategists, and stakeholders.
• Help formulate key messages to be communicated to customers.
• Work with cross-functional teams and subject matter experts to identify customer needs, business requirements, and product behavior.
• Uphold and evangelize content quality standards, help shape and maintain consistent writing style and voice across the site.
• Understand eBay policies and processes and look for opportunities for improvement.

Requirements
• BA/BS in English, Journalism, Communications, or equivalent
• 3+ years of professional experience in web writing, copywriting, or editing
• Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills, including the ability to write concise, conversational copy for a broad consumer audience
• Strong attention to detail
• Experience working on ecommerce or customer support content
• Experience with Chicago, AP, and in-house style guides
• Ability to work within tight and often-changing deadlines
• Excellent interpersonal skills for working in a collaborative environment
• Experience working with international partners as part of a global content process
• Ability to work with a variety of content management tools and workflows
• Willingness to become an eBay buyer and seller if you aren't one already—understanding eBay from the customer standpoint is critical

You should have published samples and may be asked to take a writing/copyediting test.
