Vitamin T is currently in search of a Web User Interface Designer for our client in Metro Detroit. This is a contract to hire opportunity!

Overview:
The Web User Interface Designer is responsible for the comprehension of a Brand’s ethos and bringing that to life in form of best-in-class consumer experiences. Caring first and foremost about the people who come to our sites and how we create a “personal” shopping experience that drives conversion and brand advocacy. Develop and direct the user experience of all branded e-commerce websites; enhance the web sites’ user interface by creating visual and functional elements within the design. Find new ways to improve the user experience by researching our customers and testing usability of the sites. Work with developers to ensure design team is providing information needed to complete a project.

Education and Experience Requirements (other qualifications listed below):

EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree in web design or similar field (or equivalent experience)

EXPERIENCE
4+ years as a professional web/interactive designer preferably working with e-commerce sites for a brand
Experience with e-commerce content management systems, Demandware a plus
Responsibilities:
From first-click on site to checkout, create every feature to excite and inspire interaction with the products and experiences we present on site
Enhance the user experience for all e-Commerce brand websites as they translate through mobile, tablet, e-mail, website, etc.
Collaborates, writes and communicates the technical and functional requirements to meet the objectives of the project
Design prototypes, wireframes, comps and page flow diagrams that support the project’s goals
Provide and/or oversee comp and wireframe designs for new site launches
Ensure designs are cross-browser and cross device compatible
Promote social sharing/shopping at every instance with products and experiences on site
Creates project briefs to support design, UI, marketing and business objectives
Designs and develops online experiences and web content that meet and exceed business objectives
Ensure designs are cross-browser compatible
Ensures the integrity of the online systems and information by utilizing and maintaining workflow processes and controls
Support rational decision-making regarding front-end design through analytic use cases and A/B testing
Stay up to date on the latest trends and technologies for web design, e-commerce and user interface design
Design according to e-commerce best practices for brands with an eye for changing trends
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop site content and complete web projects in accordance with workflow deadlines
Research user behavior by reviewing site analytics and A/B testing
Create and implement QA plans and usability testing for the design/UI
Work closely with developers to ensure site updates are followed through to completion
Collaborate with designers and developers on technical and functional requirements of projects
Follow up on bugs daily
Uncover and plan for all scenarios for a users interaction with for site updates or designs
Trains web design team members on content management system to support front-end design.
Produce effective ideas to enhance websites’ usability (UI)
Research design trends in the e-commerce industry and make recommendations as needed
Provide creative direction within brand standards for design work on ecommerce site
Ensuring updates are completed on all sites if necessary and that each brands specific needs are met
