Web Trader

Brief and manage the weekly homepage updates, high quality event pages and other web campaigns to drive trade, maximise customer usability and encourage customer retention.

Maintain the smooth running of the homepage on a day-to-day basis; ensuring briefs are successfully managed following a strict and timely brief to “live” process.

Manage last minute, legal or commercial changes to website as and when required, and keeping a robust record of all changes for future reviews.

Liaise with designers, coders, planning and commercial teams to ensure that pages are merchandised effectively to maximise sales.

Work with insight team to produce page weekly reviews and plan recommendations for improvements through use of web analytics tools.

Create and manage all Teamsite jobs and page/event deployments.

There will be a number of different stakeholders to work with - design, coding, legal, insight, marketing, commercial, planning, and copy writing.



ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES

Resource Complexity – (the accountability for resources i.e. people, budgets, systems, know how):

Accountable for the smooth running of the categories and events ensuring weekly and event briefs are delivered within the agreed time frames. At times this process must be streamlined for ad hoc.

Ensuring site contains error free pages.

Challenges planning / commercial and other business areas to ensure briefs are accurate, complete, meet brand guidelines and ensure all design and messages are consistent across the online sites.

Use knowledge and expertise to advise on how promotions can be visible on site.

A good creative eye and attention to detail is a must.

Ability to juggle priorities, influencing skills, assertiveness are key to this role.

Planning future resource and communicating all new projects to Web Managers so all work is resourced into the Web Resource Planner within critical timelines.

Resolves day-to-day issues and develop simple solutions to overcome difficulties.

Investigating problems and queries resulting in timely fixes, proactively suggesting solutions.

Balances the requirements of commercial and planning to drive sales with customer usability demands.

Influencing planning, commercial and designers to ensure the right balance is achieved.

Managing late briefs, last minute changes and ensuring consistency in communication to guidelines and delivering what is right for the customer for the first time.

Working with planners, marketing to continually improve the effectiveness of the website.

Web ops team – designers, traders, coders
Planning teams
Commercial teams

Adhere to weekly / event processes


Operating (Technical) skills, knowledge and experience required:

Advanced marketing skills - in particular the ability to critique briefs and highlight key messages and customer propositions.

Strong client management and commercial experience.

Several years of strategic and creative thinking.

Several years of strong negotiating experience (with a number of different stakeholders).

Experience of working within fast-paced marketing department or agencies.

Experience of managing creative processes/briefs.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Previous online retail experience and/or campaign management is beneficial but not essential.
