We are looking for a strong Web Production Designer who may be responsible for production and design/visual consistent with the visual style outlined by business group and/or branding requirements, working closely with web and marketing partners on content creation for Windows.com. They may be responsible for graphic design/production work to maintain the editorial calendars for a new site launch, then an aggressive cadence of content refresh. This position requires industry experience, project management skills, good communication and organization skills, be able to work independently.

Our team is a fast-paced team that focuses on content publishing. Our team works across a lot of different organizations within Windows and we support many different organizations (e.g. Marketing, Editorial, Site Management, etc.). We work on many different projects simultaneously with varying deadlines.
Every day we triage work with the publishing team two times a week and assign out tasks to designers for the week. Designers will meet with an FTE designer daily for art direction. This designer will work with lifestyle photography, technical illustrations, screen shots/product UI.
You must be flexible, possess a can-do attitude, and able to work well across a large team.

Required skills:
• Responsible for processing and preparing images and layouts.
• Other responsibilities will include: scanning, cropping, resizing, reformatting, color-correcting, and manipulating under the direction of a Designer or Art Director, creating graphic elements (i.e. icons) using traditional or digital tools including detailed illustrations, photo-compositions and graphic backgrounds, offering creative solutions to resolve problems with templates, working with writers, editors, design team and tools team members to resolve difficult production issues.
• 1-2 plus years production work related experience required.
• Proven ability to manipulate, crop and scale images.
• Ability to create Icons and understands pixilation.
• Ability to think about concepts and how applications relate to each other.
• Must be detail-oriented.
• Must be proficient in standard design software (i.e. Photoshop, Illustrator).
• Strong visual layout and typography skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail may be required.
• Must be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and work in a fast paced environment.
• Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Portfolio required.
